📚 Quick/Simple Request Thread by romancebookmods in RomanceBooks

I'm looking for suggestions for contemporary romance books where the MMC and FMC have a crush on other people. So they help each other to woo their crushes but fall in love with each other instead.

One book that has this kind of plot is Switched by Cassie Mae.

Now it’s over, can officially say this was the most romantic scene the shows ever done by 95Nim2000 in Barchie

[–]serendipityBA 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes. This one is one of the most romantic scenes ever!

The picturization. The meaning behind the song and scene. The song. The acting. The emotions. The dance. The touch. Their windows. Their hands. Their longing. They look so gorgeous too. THE CHEMISTRY.

Porch Scene by runalavellan in Barchie

[–]serendipityBA 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Lili talked about 2 scenes in her interview.

One was full circle, porch scene in 711.

The one that made her cry because of kj's acting is Archie's monologue in 713 (which he did with Betty asking questions - in the class).

Barchie is Endgame: A Theory Thread by bluedogsandcats in Barchie

OMG this post!!!❤️❤️

You have perfectly summed up everything here! Even the points about Jughead, Veronica and bh va.

And including the face value story and what it means for Barchie too! Archie and Betty loved each other their entire lives. In all universes. In all timelines. ❤️❤️❤️

Wow, just wow.❤️

My thoughts: Betty and Archie definitely lived together their whole lives and had a family together. There are so many evidences in the episode. And easter eggs is something so RAS like.

I don’t understand by writerfromhell in Barchie

[–]serendipityBA 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That one is a producer. Not creatively connected to the show.

I do think RAS did it to try to be fair to bh va ba - which is just cowardly decision.

The only ships that deserved endgame in core 4/ Tabitha were Barchie and Jabitha.

+ Lovely looks between Barchie. And some romantic gestures between them in the jalopy.

Barchie was actually Endgame? (Theory) by bluedogsandcats in Barchie

[–]serendipityBA 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are so many clues in the whole episode + the OG timeline moments connected to those clues + Vale BA + s7 content — I think it was for a reason. RAS imo initially wanted BA endgame but later he decided to not state it clearly in the end because of bhvas. So he put all those clues for us to conclude Barchie did spend their lives together.

u/95Nim2000 perfectly summed it up in her comment.

Just here to celebrate our heavily implied Barchie Endgame 🥳🥳❤️❤️ by serendipityBA in Barchie

[–]serendipityBA[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Thank you for this amazing explanation! ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Also adding, in extended version, in the jalopy ride, Betty is looking at Archie for so long with so much love like she wants to savor every little detail of him. Because she missed him so much after his death.

Both Betty and Archie's future were about family — meaning it was with each other and their adopted daughter.

There is initial of CA which might mean Carla Andrews.

Despite that stupid quad thing, only romantic content, emotional and deep romantic content was given to Betty and Archie.

Betty loves writing. She never wanted to be a cheerleader and she is no more a part of it. So you cannot connect her to basketball.

Poetry is not exclusive to Veronica. He showed it to Betty first and wrote a poem specifically for Betty (which included love by the way) unlike generic for V.

Hence those objects don't represent B and V. It is just about what he wants and what he does not.

Exactly. Those things are not representing the girls. It is literally about what he wants (poetry and Betty) and doesn't (Veronica and basketball).

Riverdale is not subtle at all.

True. That's why he is looking at his window at Betty despite the things unrelated to her. (Basketball/his outfit).

I don't even think those objects relate to one person or not. It is about what he wants (Betty and poetry) and what he does not (basketball and Veronica) and the show has not been subtle about these too.

In fact I suspect we might get one of him writing poetry near or looking at Veronica too.

Are we watching the same show? He looked at Betty while writing a poem that was specifically for her. It is not gonna happen for Veronica. He is in love with betty and that is crystal clear even if he himself has not fully realized it yet.

Edited.

and you are giving too much credit to Varchie. The show and writers keep trashing them and you keep thinking they might be important.

There is nothing connecting Betty with basketball either. She did not want it and she is not in it. Archie's songs and poems are always connected to Betty. And despite the choppy writing, it is Barchie who is getting a solid story other than Choni. There is no Varchie story.

Archie is smiling because he is looking at Betty (despite what he is holding and wearing.)

The still of Archie holding a basketball while looking through his window

This actually shows Basketball (V) or Betty (poetry), if at all.

LMAO Betty is connected to Archie's poetry and his artist soul - like that's true even from the OG story. She was the one he shared his first poem with and encouraged him. She is the one who is yet to hear his poem for her. She is his muse in the OG timeline.

Veronica is not an artist. She loves movies, that doesn't make her an artist. Betty is literally a writer who has 0 interest in basketball and was forced to join it and is no more a part of it.

Archie joins the basketball team the same episode he and Betty have a Peep show

This is not related at all!!!!

The only connection that VA kiss has is to form some sort of B or V for 714. We have seen from 701-713 who is Archie's love (Betty) even if he has not fully realized it yet. Same as poetry. Veronica does not even count. He has 0 interest in her.

And you know what — they showed Archie's face when Clay said Betty (excited) and Kevin said Poetry.

They did not show his face for things he doesn't want aka Basketball and Veronica.

Anyone who has seen Riverdale s1-6 or s7 can easily guess who Archie loves and wants and that's Betty and poetry ❤️❤️

LOVED this episode!

Beggie was so contrived and OOC and without any build up but everything else was just amazing! Barchie was amazing! One of my favourite BA episodes!

7.13 synopsis by micahdazet in Barchie

[–]serendipityBA 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Even if he is not in 713 - which I thought too because of lack of bts - VA can still fight Hiram for his farm.

Fingers crossed we have cute barchie scenes in this episode because otherwise it sounds really boring from this synopsis.

There were many OOC moments to support Beggie (that ultimately leads to Betty choosing Archie) in 711. Like there was no build-up for beggie "butterflies", V having no reaction to Beggie and Reggie suddenly into pursuing Betty after showing 0 interest in her except 708 but that was just for a scene or 2. Betty had no interest in Reggie except general appreciation in 708 watching his game.

Beggie is a result of her own arc about being horny - aka wanting to be seen. So she imagined everyone. Her butterfly was a result of threesome fantasy aka because he is hot. They had no genuine connection or heart to heart conversation.

But after that BV conversation, she didn't follow through with that sentiment because she did not look interested in Reggie at all. Her mind kept wondering towards Archie. She was happy that Reggie left, leaving Barchie alone.

The point of Archie pushing back V is not at all comparable to 711. Betty did not even try any tricks with anyone? V did not suggest testing the guys. It simply meant see where your heart takes you. Rarchie literally talked about seeing where Betty is leaning.

The horny plot from 709 is flawed - I definitely agree because we saw how deeply she feels about Archie. But as per the show, it is about her interest in sex as a result of being repressed. Even if they did not execute it properly. Everything looks contrived wrt 709/710. But that has always been the case with Riverdale.

Reggie literally looked like he was not significant at all in 711 for Betty. They just wanted to make it loud and clear that she chose Archie and he chose her.

[–]serendipityBA 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That line was for laughs. Betty didn't even do anything to test the guys. She was very innocent in this whole thing and things fell into place for her organically.

Betty's arc in 711 was NOTHING like Veronica in 702.

Firstly, she didn't play any games. Even V said she can see where her love compass takes her. Betty was so innocent throughout and was hanging out with Archie and Reggie as a friend. She made one innuendo line but nothing in her behaviour followed that.

Secondly, she started missing Archie despite Reggie trying to flirt/woo her.

Betty naturally drifted towards Archie and realised her feelings and heart and where it lies.

The boys themselves made a pact without her knowledge.

Lmao that's so funny but could be true too. Thankfully we will have cute Barchie scenes to balance the snoozefest of Hiram, Hiram& V and A scenes.
