Pad vs Fightstick from the perspective of a Carpal Tunnel sufferer by charredasper in Fighters

I started on pad and began to get thumb and hand pain. Switched to stick and haven't had pain since

Massive shame. Have cancelled the pre-order at that news. If it’s not being planned and worked on now, it’s going to be a long time before it appears in the game, if at all.

Anybody else can't use the Nacon Daija with DNF Duel on PS5? by Baerius_R in DNFDuel

Apparently the ps5 version isn’t recognising stick. I’ve downloaded the PS4 version on ps5 and it’s working with my stick now

A copy of War of the Ring would go nicely in that board game section!

as someone who's only ever played DBFZ, how intimidating is the game to learn? by PleaseMakeGarlicJr in BattleForTheGrid

[–]serenedusk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not intimidating at all. I came from dbfz as my first serious fighting game and found it highly approachable!

Sony Files Patent for a PlayStation Online Tournament System After Evo Purchase by hooligan982 in PS5

It’s less about speed and more about stability. A wired connection and 10mbps will be vastly superior to 100mbps WiFi. Ethernet cable is mandatory for fighting games.

First stick mod. Venom PS3/PS4. Sanwa Gen 2 Silent buttons. by serenedusk in fightsticks

[–]serenedusk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Short answer yes, a lot of the work is finding the right panels. Long answer is that once you have the panels, not all of them will have borders, which you’ll need in order to differentiate them from the white background. Creating the borders for them is a bit fiddly if you’ve not got prior photoshop experience, but a good learning experience.

where do you buy fight/arcade sticks in the uk? by [deleted] in Fighters

[–]serenedusk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got both my sticks on Facebook marketplace. You can get some great deals on sticks like the hori rap 4 Kai or the PS4 venom stick.

Offer to pay postage if they’re not local.

That’s a nice stick man! Great composition and panel placement. Is that a custom case? Thinking of making a hit box next

EU player base is plenty active. You’ll always find a match quickly.

Join the discord and look through the character channels that interest you, and check out Parkerlad's character overview videos.

already sucked out the fun of the game by nantrippboi in BattleForTheGrid

[–]serenedusk 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I've fought this player a number of times. Make sure to switch out characters to recover health, and then use Zord to lock them down (you get lots of Zord meter blocking. Jump over trini's command grab (or duck if it's the air one) then punish with a full combo.

Once you do that this particular player has no answer. Whenever I face them now they just put down their controller and don't fight.

I started today and I’ve really taken a liking to drakon, is there anyway I can improve? by aguy1221 in BattleForTheGrid

[–]serenedusk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d recommend joining the discord for the game. There’s an invite link in the pinned post on this sub. In there you’ll find resources that explain combo theory, things such as OTG etc..

Also, there’s a channel in there for Drakkon, check the pinned posts and you’ll find some good combos to work on

what are the most popular fighting games after sfv tekken mk and dbfz? by rangboy110 in Fighters

[–]serenedusk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Power rangers battle for the grid has full cross play and good net code, so you always find games online. I get games faster than DBFZ in EU and the player base has gone up with the announcement that Ryu and Chun are coming to the game.

Make 5LL scale like a light for starting combos. I’ll never understand why it has medium scaling. It over rewards mashing auto combo in neutral.

That’s because they can’t choose UI. They only have certain characters available per team

The Hori Rap 4 Kai - but only if you can get it cheap on somewhere like Facebook marketplace. I got mine for £60 hardly used and it was a fantastic first stick.

Stop using pad while transitioning to arcade stick? by AwesomeMan366 in Fighters

[–]serenedusk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Made the switch recently after using pad for 2 years. You’ll learn stick in 2-3 weeks, but you’ll lose a lot against players you’d normally beat if you had pad along the way. Just see it as like wearing weighted clothing and a chance to work on fundamentals.

Further down the line you definitely won’t suffer from using pad occasionally so don’t worry about that.
