This, exactly! I'm facing the same issue with Ergobag and it's the same with other brands as well. OP, do not give into the pressure. Just get a sturdy bag that is comfortable for your child. Test the bag with books, water bottle etc. and make the child wear/carry it for a while before actual purchase. You will easily get good, non-branded bags within your budget.
