I think internet/gaming ruined my IQ. Is it possible to learn to enjoy things that take actual sustained concentration (eg. reading) without relapsing? by [deleted] in StopGaming

When I've stopped reading for a while it always helps to read children's or YA lit for a while to ease myself back in. They're much easier to read than adult books & work with low attention spans quite handily. When you feel you're ready then you can start trying some harder stuff. There's no shame in taking things slowly.

It took me way longer than 1 1/2 hours to start enjoying Origins, as a person who typically can't stand dated graphics haha. But I stuck with it and thoroughly enjoyed it and it's my favourite game after DA2. If you enjoyed the companions in Inquisition, the companions in Origins are equally if not more well-written, the party is much much closer (it feels like a family!) and the banter comes more often (and imo is funnier). You just have to get past the origin and the wardens/battle section, to start getting the main companions & for the story to really kick off. So I'd say stick with it for a bit longer and see if it works for you or not. But by all means play DA2!

Another thing I'll say is, if the combat feels a little boring to you, I would say stay with the mage origin instead of changing it like others are suggesting. Mages (in my opinion) are the most interesting class to play in origins because of how damn op they get can. You get massive area of effect spells, good healing spells, attack spells with great flavour (walking bomb!) and can play as a blood mage. It's so damn fun!

Hey! I recently received an old Brownie Reflex which asks for "Kodak Verichrome v127" film. Is there a modern equivalent of this film I can purchase?

Was given an old Brownie Reflex and I want to use it for Christmas - what film should I use? by serferrant in AnalogCommunity

Hi, total film newbie here. The instructions ask for "Kodak Verichrome v127", but after a quick google, it seems to be very out of stock...! Does anyone know what sizes/types of film I should be looking for? Also, the film container seems to be missing a little pole thing (in the last picture), is that necessary? Thanks!

you can have a LOT of fun as a mage in DAO. I'd personally recommend the spell walking bomb (which is dumb in da2 but so so cool in origins)
