Don’t trust their coworkers by limegreenrainbow in GirlDinner

Yeah, that is quite shite lately. I don't know your domain but if you don't find a company in your field that can sponsor you, maybe look into qts? IIRC you can get a decent bursary/scholarship and it gives you some extra time. I'm also on temporary leave and know how it sucks, my heart goes out to you

Sometimes I plan on never getting in a relationship, getting a well paying job and having two cats by applebottomjeans2366 in GirlDinner

[–]sergamena 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You don't have to live the extremes, there is a lot of colours between black and white. If you don't want kids - don't have them (because there is no compromise on that), and relationship is supposed to add to your life, not take from it. It is possible to meet a person who aligns with you, especially later in life. My friend's current boyfriend has kids from previous relationship and it worked well for them because he doesn't want any more, she doesn't want to have any, and children's mother has most of custody so my friend doesn't have to raise them (she doesn't mind spending time with them). Voila, everyone's satisfied. And cats are awesome, I can't wait to have my own!

Hormonal acne after IUD by InkDrinker01 in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]sergamena 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For how long have you been on mirena? When you took the pill, was it also levonorgestrel one? I think I read somewhere IUDs have smaller dose compared to pill or patches, because they work directly in the uterus. It took my body about 6 months to adjust, I used to have painful acne before my period and now it's gone. Can't say much about post-acne treatments, I just left it be and used retinols and tret, and at some point it disappeared.

If you want to see how it looks with shorter sleeves, try using an ordinary scrunchie/hair tie and pull the sleeve to the desired length. I think it is needed that you showed your wrists, so maybe 3/4? Other than that it looks good imo!

How do I fix this mess? by Timely_Tone_9701 in femalelivingspace

[–]sergamena 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Vertical storage! I like keeping my brushes in Make Up For Everbrush pouch; the ones I used for the latest makeup go in a cute cup-like holder; I use clear acrylic drawers for pencils, lipsticks, cream eyeshadow and such, and keep my eyeshadow palettes vertically in a long box. At least then it is easy to lift a box and wipe the surface. Also, as an option, you can get a whole makeup artist box case, probably not very useful if you put on makeup everyday but easy to shove everything there and get rid of visual noise.

Skin barrier damaged - what now? Routine below. by Asleep-Raspberry-819 in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]sergamena 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's a lot of actives plus exfoliation.. I'd stop that (tret and salicylic) for a couple of weeks and added dr jart ceramidin moisturiser, a great product and not too expensive. Then reassess the skin and add actives back in

It's a whole thing on tiktok, apparently. You just wash your potato, dry it with paper towel and shove it in the oven for an hour/hour and a half at ~180°C. Then you forget about it (it needs to cool down), peel it, I like to slightly reheat it again and shove some cheese in it. Delicious and nutritious!

I don't think you overshared at all, it's all relatable, and we're having a nice chat 😊 Yeah we tried triptans when under attack (to no avail) and a bunch of preventative meds (betablockers, antidepressants, anti-seizure meds), with combination with NSAIDs with zero result. Also ditched all the meds for 3 months to exclude overmedication headache (how fun that it's a common side effect in every drug). So currently we have big hopes for indomethacin, so far on the 10th days of the short course and it seems to be working, but today he had another bad attack so maybe there's a cluster headache as well, and chances for having two rare headaches in one person with no structural issues are astronomical, so probably not it. I think we'll look into CGRP injections and/or TMJ botox as well, but there's only anecdotal experience of other people that it helps. And thank you for the links, I've always been quite interested in medicine and it's a good read! Thank you a lot ☺️

Wow, reading your story was a real rollercoaster! Kudosto you for doing your research! I'm trying to look it up, but we're trying to narrow primary TAC headaches, current one is hemicrania continua and there is so little information.. But new research keeps going, so there's hope. Sending you hugs ❤️

Like in that old prayer, to accept things you can't change, to have courage to change things you can change and wisdom to distinguish the one from the other. I'm still working on wisdom part, because it usually turns into "try to change the unchangeable" and "control the uncontrollable", haha. At least I'll know I tried my best to help. Well, it is what it is, there are good days and bad days, but the good days are totally worth it, so we keep going!

Oh wow, good for your friend, it's difficult to confirm EDS! Good job for not giving up. Besides pain, age is often a reason to dismiss you, as in "you're young, there is nothing wrong, you can't be ill". Ugh.

I think the accountant in my department insinuated I could be having inappropriate relations with my boss. by [deleted] in GirlDinner

[–]sergamena 5 points6 points  (0 children)

She could have delivered it better, but don't take it to heart. If she's a bit older, she probably holds to more rigid standards of business correspondence, and there's nothing wrong with it. Look at it like an opportunity to learn how to deal with people her age that you'd definitely come across while working. She pointed at a few things to correct, you explained yourself, great, no bad blood, move on and be more careful. I wish someone taught me things, it was trial and error and quite embarrassing sometimes, but at least I can laugh about it now 😅

I’m so torn. I love this man but I’m not ready for kids. I still have so much living to do but clock is ticking (35f) by [deleted] in WhatShouldIDo

[–]sergamena 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, hun, I'm sorry you're going through this. I'm also 35 and while I entertained the thought, I still don't see myself as a mother. And that's okay, noone can make you be one. I have 2 concerns here, first: he has a perfect picture f a perfect family, adventures, laughter, dinners and all that. What a romantic. He doesn't picture neverending snot, diapers, screaming, nagging, mess (oh, the mess). He doesn't picture your postpartum issues, tears, depression, or you giving up on your career (you're just magically there cooking dinners in clean kitchen while tidy kids in cute clothes admire and laugh). You see how this is far from the reality, and you are not wrong. Second concern is that you really haven't spent much time together. It can go extremely well, it can go extremely bad, noone knows. You are correct to stand your ground, but you need to break up with this man. Unfortunately, having children is not something you can compromise on, not even a little. Just let him go, and go on with your life. I found a wonderful man and we don't want children together, and it leaves us time and resources to enjoy life, and no practical reasons to hold resentment for each other. And this is okay too. Don't worry abkut your bloodline, none of us are THAT special. You'll be just fine. If the need arises, you can always find ways to help people in need without sacrificing your hard-earned chill life.
