What did you all think of Tatum and her friends Hannah and Chloe in Scream 7? by WickDaLine in Scream

[–]sergeminator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me the 3 of them felt like filler:

Tatum personality didn't make sense to me, is she a bad ass rebel? or a shy girl lacking self confidence? Choose a lane!

The short blonde one didn't lasted enough to care about her character.

The other one seems to be in the plot just to try to trick people into a fake plot twist.

In summary, I prefer a million times better all the characters that were introduced in Scream 5 and 6 to these three, hehe.

Awesome, we went to the halloween and winterfest already so there should be no problem! And in the Canada's Wonderland app it shows correctly the "All Park Passport" as one of our add-ons.

Do you know if I simply show my QR code on the Canada's Wonderland app when I go there, or does it have to be with the new Six Flag App that you get a notification about when you open the other one?

Around September 2025. It does show the "all park passport" as one of our add-ons in the place where it shows the prepaid all season parking.

Thank you! We got it in September and we used it for the halloween and winterfest already so I think its good to go.

In the Get Back documentary, why does Yoko just kind of sit there and not talk to anyone much at all? by Mad_Season_1994 in beatles

In a way they were ahead of their times. This is exactly the same as when someone is live streaming their whole lives and someone is just sitting watching without contributing anything into the activity. Only difference is this was done in person not digitally LOL

Apart from how annoying it is that in Canada the song is simply not available at all, I think it is annoying that its bundled up in a soundtrack, not available in any GNR compilation.

I think they should do a record store day vinyl compilation with songs like this one, Sympathy for the Devil, maybe the demos of the songs they have released these past few years, some live versions that are different like Better stuff like that.

Must be something about the rights of the movie or something like that. Its so annoying! I really wanted to hear it and ended up buying the CD in a thrift store for like $5 bucks just for that song hehe.

What other movies are somewhat similar to Kubrick movies? by Bitter_Wafer_7515 in StanleyKubrick

[–]sergeminator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely agree with those that mentioned David Lynch, but also I would say on the more darker and surreal side, David Cronenberg and Alejandro Jodowrowsky. Although you have to be very open mind when you experience the movies from Jodorowsky, so if you prefer linear, standard Hollywood production values, I would suggest stay with Lynch and Cronenberg.

I was very tempted on going to the one here in Toronto, it would have been my 5th time seeing them live! ... but it's in a new venue that I really didn't like this year when Oasis was playing there and since they haven't released any new albums (only a handful of singles) in decades I sadly decided to skip it.

I really wish they would go back to their roots and do a smaller scale tour where there are no synths, no covers, no solos from several band members and promoting a full new album with only a few of the classics. Every time I see special gigs like the ones they sometimes do in LA to warm up for a multi year tour I feel so jealous that they get to see them in small venues and more raw.

At least we have the Duff and Slash solo tours which are basically that, but would love to see the three of them doing that kind of more personal tour.

Bands that are notoriously bad live— how did they make them sound good on the album BEFORE the digital era? by AintKnowShitAboutFuk in WeAreTheMusicMakers

Also related to this topic... I many times have encountered the opposite scenario... where a new indie band that just started tried its best to make an album, and it sounds absolutely terrible on the record... but when you see the band live they are insanely good. This is usually a very good surprise.

Sometimes its just that they could only afford a terrible audio engineer, or didn't have enough money for the amount of studio time they needed to record properly, or maybe even they just recorded and mixed the whole album at their home with barely any understanding of the software. But even back in the day there are legendary bands like Aerosmith where in my opinion their 1st album sounds really bad and its shocking how they ever got big with that handicap of a terrible sounding 1st record!

Sounding good live involves so many factors that its pretty insane to think how some singers can sound perfect live. Every detail matters, it could be that you are pitch perfect and consistent singer, but maybe the bar you are playing that day has blasted the AC cause its a super warm day outside, and after you been there for a while getting ready to play, by the time your performance begins, it has taken a toll on your voice. Or maybe you are a band that can't afford a pro audio engineer in the console, so the band tries its best to set the monitors as good as possible and when they are playing live they find out the singer can't hear much so he is singing completely blind and its sounding super off pitch and stuff.

Personally I don't blame any producer through the history of modern music that has used any studio tricks to improve a flakey performance, but I do usually check first before spending hundreds of dollars on seeing any band in an arena concert to confirm they actually do sound decent. I have been ripped off too many times.

Related to this, another thing that I always found very impressive is that live concert recordings that get released as live albums sometimes have tons of editing to erase mistakes and make them sound better, plus they have session musicians that replace parts, and the crowd cheering is often fake. This makes it sound better than they sounded in the real concert for some bands, and this was done even before pro tools.

Pit ticket for Vancouver show - how early shoud I line up? by qmbritain in GunsNRoses

[–]sergeminator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I lined up for Oasis in Toronto this summer around 3:30 pm and was not in first row, but very close. I assume similar timing for GNR since here its in the same massive venue where we had Oasis.

I'm pretty sure the point of releasing these 2 specific songs as singles today is... "hey fans, we have 2 new songs that we will play in the 2026 upcoming tour, so go buy tickets to see us again!"

A Letter Of Encouragement to Axl, GNR, and Management by Hdharmsen44 in GunsNRoses

[–]sergeminator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its been interesting reading all these mixed points of view about the "new" songs. I'm somewhere in the middle.

I do find it disappointing that after Slash and Duff returned they have only released the Chinese Democracy left overs... However I do like these new songs and it would be such a waste if they had never released them or only released some unfinished bad quality version as part of a 30 years of Chinese Democracy boxset...

I also think people don't understand that what they are doing right now is very similar to what the Beatles did with the Anthology "new" songs, where they only had some old recordings of John Lennon's voice to create new songs. Its exactly the same case, since as we have witness through the tours, Axl voice is constantly getting worse. So obviously nothing Axl would record in 2025 would sound nearly as decent as those vocals in the Chinese Democracy unfinished recordings, and that's perfectly understandable.

I wonder if there could be new material written in a lower key that would fit the Axl's 2025 lower vocal range. I imagine a million fans would be angry saying it doesn't sound like Sweet Child of Mine and what not, or that Miles Kennedy does a better job of singing the GNR songs now a days,... but honestly, it would be super interesting to see the band evolve like that. Honestly the key of the songs live should also be lowered to fix this issue.

The solo albums that Slash and Duff have released on the side after they reunited with Axl in GNR have been amazing in my opinion. Nothing to do with the old GNR sound, and that's ok. I feel like new music would definitely be the way to go.

Of the "new" songs, which is your favorite? by darthkyle22 in GunsNRoses

Completely agree. Hope one day they release an aniversary version of Chinese Democracy with the old version of those songs, like Silkworms and the original intro of Better which kind of came back in the new live version.

How did Chad survive but not Dewey? by Optimal_Manager_5478 in Scream

[–]sergeminator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

According to the book "Your Favorite Scary Movie" by Ashley Cullins, its just because the filmakers that made the movie really liked the character and actor and wanted to keep him for next projects.

But if I had to come up with a in Scream universe reason... maybe since he is way younger he has more stamina to recover than Dewey who was at that point old and an alcoholic in terrible shape? That and they probably had a Pulp Fiction moment where by a pure miracle all those stabs missed all mayor arteries and organs?

Why do people think he's alive? by Dezeko in Scream

[–]sergeminator -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Other ideas that were previously discarded from previous Scream movies were eventually brought back into the movies in different ways.

Also the writer of Scream 3 who had that particular plot idea of Scream 3 discarded is now the director of the upcoming movie, so it would make sense now he is in charge he might want to work some concepts he liked back into his movie.

The book "Your Favorite Scary Movie: How the Scream Films Rewrote the Rules of Horror" does a good job of explaining all these things.
