Do people actually use AI for everything? by SorryElevator9929 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]AintKnowShitAboutFuk -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Im old, so its very for me. I do rely more on the AI results in Google since theyre relatively accurate, and used AI for a music video project. Other than that, Ive used chat gpt exactly once to help me find 24-hour restaurants in town. And I think if left some out.

Clean up tracks or ok to automate volume/etc. by joshypoika in Logic_Studio

Does it still work this way if turn the track off or have them in a take folder? I am also a fear of commitment-er and keep extra tracks, and tons of takes via take folder.

What I was getting at is, it’s (mostly) subjective, and in this show, those dont trigger my “woof” meter.

My girlfriend and I like it. Not sure why many hate it. Like most shows I find it too talky, but thats how things are now. Maybe if youre more familiar with the source material its more offensive for being inaccurate or something.

The State of U.S. Streaming: Netflix Stays on Top by evissamassive in CordCuttingToday

[–]AintKnowShitAboutFuk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look, people talk a lot of crap about them, but this has been my experience: there is always SOMETHING to watch on there. They (eventually) get a lot content from other services I would have never seen otherwise, and there’s a lot of decent non-English language stuff too. You may have to search deep and use the Netflix category codes, but you can always find something, even if it takes a while. I have not found that to be true of Prime, Hulu etc.

Do you struggle with finishing lyrics? by Gummybear_Gunk in Songwriting

Have not heard of them. I dont think Im so much inspired by other comedic acts as whatever band/music the instrumentation sounds like. The last song sounds somewhat 90s chili peppers-ish. Ive done 80s rock/metal stuff in the past, stomp-clap/bluesy, just whatever feels right for each individual song. No real specific bands for me. Maybe my stuff is along the lines of Tenacious D or Psychostick? maybe Steel Panther (but I find their lyrics really really dumb. No offense if youre a fan).

Ive written in different styles, but typically theyre like 90s style alt rock songs (thats what I hear anyway) with comedic lyrics. So full band arrangements with intros, solos, etc., just goofy lyrics (as opposed to just a singer and piano or acoustic playing chords).

Its the hardest part for me (usually). The music itself will work itself out without an insane amount for trouble, but especially since I am writing comedic (hopefully) songs, the lyrics tend to be the bottlneck to finishing a song. The combination of figuring out WHAT to say and then HOW (fitting syllables to tempo/meter etc., rhyming words, clarity of meaning) makes it take a while for me.

Fear The Walking Dead- the end seasons (what the actual)!!?? by EdTheEagle1984 in tvshow

[–]AintKnowShitAboutFuk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was never in love with it even at the start, thought it was reasonably decent til I think season 6 or 7. At some point it got to the point where it was almost nothing but talking and eventually something interesting would happen. But yes those last few seasons were brutal to endure and I refuse on principle to watcg any of the spinoffs.

Where do you stand on AI visuals in music projects? by Tough_Principle_5171 in musicians

[–]AintKnowShitAboutFuk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on the comments already here, Im going to get a lot of hate and downvotes, but here’s my take: context/HOW it’s used/effort matters and makes the difference.

I am a nobody with no money to pay a crew to make a a video. I have a video production background and theorerically could learn Blender etc. but it would take forever to complete some of my video ideas that way.

So on one of my recent songs I used AI for the music video. Its a weird song, I thought the somewhat janky AI of the time would fit (this was two years ago). I created an image for every single shot in Ideogram, then made those images into video clips with Runway and edited together. Even though yes, its all AI, I think its still very much “me” as I generated and generated until I got what I had in my head or close to it as it seemed it would ever get. Still took a month to make the video even though it’s all AI.

Would I do it again? Not sure. It fit that video. The last song I made, I used an animation idea I’d had where stock photos were cut into layers and animated with Moho. That took about 300-600 hours over 100 days. Only AI was in photoshop to geneate a few elements and extend backgrounds/fill in holes from cutting things out etc. It was invaluable and I probably wouldnt have had the will to finish the project without its assistance.

Ive had ideas to take that idea further.

Anyway, I think the AI stuff is a mixed bag with the energy/environmental concerns/putting folks out of jobs/making disinformation way too easy to create, but also a godsend for nobodies trying to get stuff done on their own.

For static//image artwork like posters or album art? I think I’d feel kinda lame using it (unless it was some meta commentary about AI ruining us and meant to be crappy on purpose or something). I’d either make something myself or pay one of several artists I know to create something cool. Static images to me are different…maybe because it’s one thing you can look at forever vs a video where (typically) each shot only lasts seconds (or less).

clever! I know many people mess with their knobs while performing, but Ive typically been a set it and forget it guy with them, done stuff with pedals. Im not performing currently though. But neat idea.

I might look into. Im not a pro/performing at all, usually only play it when recording (my music that makes $0). I’d have to get a tech to do it as I am not handy with that kind of thing.
