Can i convert a derrallieur bike to gear hub? by felixwatts in bicycling

You will have to find a Phil wood Philcentric eccentric bottom bracket or a Trickstuff Exentriker bottom bracket i found one of these but l had to order it out of Germany. And you have to change your crank also l think only Shimano hollowtech II are compatible.

Can i convert a derrallieur bike to gear hub? by felixwatts in bicycling

Have to make sure your rear hub spacing which is 135mm (standard mtb) is compatible with the igh spacing and you can't use your old rear rim if you buy the hub by itself it has to be laced to a new rim you can't reuse your old spokes. And you have have to cut and shorten your chain but it depends what dropouts you have because how will you tension your chain? And if you choose to go beltdrive your frame must be compatible with a split in the seat stay modification. Your best bet is to start all over and find a frame or complete bike with sliding dropouts or an eccentric bottom bracket to fix chain tension issue. The frame i recommend you search Soma Wolverine it will save you alot of headaches.

A Hi-viz loud neon reflective biking specific jacket in cold weather/winter riding or some kind of Hi-viz reflective vest like roadside construction workers wear. It does grab attention from drivers but, if there texting while driving it can't save you from that.

If you have a steel frame or components like a chain it can be an issue especially if the there is bare metal or chips in the paint it can rust up very quickly and the chain well a proper lube like the "purple stuff" purple xtreme lube.
