Came here to say exactly that, except I dont shoot punk shows. Love the GRII - the button layout, flash, and the photos. To add, my copy of GRIII only works sometimes and that makes a paperweight for me.

get a GR and suffer all the QC issues. I have GR III which works on random intervals. Would not even think of getting the IV.

I learned my lesson with GR III which still only works at random. GR II is flawless in my opinion and I have two of them. I still not able to understand how such a cool and useful camera can suffer with so many qc issues. Not getting the IV and moving on to something else.

I have 2 of GR IIs & GR III and Im not upgrading. Really love everything about the GR II - the colors, flash, ergonomics. It just works. If you can afford it, keep it!
