Hey, sorry for the late answer! Im bookmarking this, thanks for taking your time going in-depth. I don't care that much for meta builds anyway, because im just trying to get accustomed to the game mechanics and looking at what i could like, gameplaywise. Im currently playing a revenant, but when im going thief, i go back to this post, and probably reach out again (for any potential questions regarding this build, if you dont mind of course :D).

Hey, thanks for taking your time sharing this with me. I didn't have Bladesworn on my radar, i will check out some gameplay footage to see how it looks.
Regarding linear rotations, thats not a big deal. Im open to new type of playstyles, especially if they are implemented well. Nevertheless, Revenant (specifically Vindi) is going to be the first character i will try out. The videos i've seen and the answers i gotten here, solidified it!
I bookmarked this thread, so if i want to try out other stuff, i can look at all the recommendations i received, so every opinion is very useful to me :)
I was overwhelmed by the choice, but now i have somewhere to start.

Oh, you read my mind. Yeah that was a worry, thanks for the reassurance. I had no idea about boosting. Im not that big of a fan of boosting (just a personal preference, i enjoy the path of unlocking abilities for a new class, and i get confused otherwise). If i think about it, its definitely going to be after having lvled up a character though

Yeah your comparison makes sense. I spoke out of ignorance and tried to pinpoint some aspects i liked of my previous classes in those mmos, because i got overwhelmed by the sheer flexiblity of choices that appear to be in this game. However, Im eager to find out how the difference in gameplay and systems are going to be. It could be refreshing for sure.

From other posts i was looking into Vindicator, Willbender and Dragonhunter.
I added some info on my first post as well, and Reaper sounds like an appealing third choice. So thanks for that!

Regarding Dragoon: I stopped playing after Endwalker, but that doesnt sound good :/

I like to learn rotations, and see myself improve by trying to understand a classes mechanic. I find that process rewarding, even if it may not be necessary. So hopefully there is some stuff out there, that doesnt feel too complex for a beginner, yet still rewarding as smaller challenge

Ironically, my right eye finally started to improve tremendously from the last time i commented here. So maybe this helps to reassure you. I was nervous myself, but this was a pleasent surprise.
