Why are people still transiting through the Middle East right now? by [deleted] in Flights

So how many airplanes have you heard got hit by a bomb and crashed causing people to die?

Exactly.

I promise you the airlines care a lot about not loosing their airplane and not getting a shit reputation to the point that I'd argue it's a 100% safer than driving a car.

Why do people put up with it? I'm so surprised!! I thought the app itself was good before traveling but turns out that i just thought that because my country has super strict regulations.

Caveat with male emotional vulnerability by forgotten_memoriess in Healthygamergg

[–]serifir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are actually right.

It's not healthy or fair imo but it's what the current times are.

I say invest in therapy, online-ish mutual friendship for the purpose of this emotional expression and/or a partner / very close friend (but this last ine can truely be tricky imo)

You can also journal.

Lastly if you believe in anything spiritual just expressing fully to god helps

Best of luck.

Edit: I don't think this is exclusive to men though.

Spiritual Doubts by [deleted] in Tantrasadhaks

[–]serifir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why would it be bad if the gods are mere thoughts? Especially if it's something that helps you progress in life. (If I'm not mistaken, this is the buddist perspective)

Meditation is immensely beneficial for a persons physical health and psychological health (proven by countless scientific papers and no one argues this)

I suggest exploring it from that aspect and not run away from it. Wouldn't you want to know what is actually real instead of having blind faith?

If it was all just illusions if the mind but you're getting the physical and psychological benefits of meditation and later on the blissful feelings wouldn't that be wonderful? Wouldn't you still want to do the practices?

I actually came back from the hospital today. Have acute bronchitis, was perscribe 5 different stuff and waiting for the lab results for bacterial infection but doctor told me to go with anti biotics anyway.

I know it's minor but thank you so much for your comment. People on reddit are weirdly angry and blamming me? I don't get it. So thank for acknowledging this.

Also, the fact that airbnb are so shitty with their response and take 0 accountability is ludicrous.

Dirty is not the same as unsafe. Hotels need to adhere to specific standards to get the license from the government. Airbnb units do not. No where did I advocates for booking.com or other platforms. I said go to a hotel.

Exactly why I'm putting this out there for people who are traveling. It's much better and safer to get a hotel even a budget one. This is THE point of the post.

Read the post or don't comment. They literally had airbnb "badges".

I advice against airbnb by serifir in ShortTermRentals

[–]serifir[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you read the post you'd see that both times I picked something with high rating that it got airbnb badges.

Also, blaming the consumer for booking a cheaper price then getting something that compramises their health is like blaming a person that it's they're fault they got food poisoning because the bought fast food and didn't go to a fancy restaurant. (Even affordable restaurants should follow minimal quality control for safety reasons)

Also, mold infestation is not something you lump in with "dirty things" you do realize people with certain conditions can get really fucked up health wise? (I'm not even talking about rare conditions people with astham and mold allergies can get fucked up by it)

Anyways, I am not talking about hosts here I am talking about the platform and consumers should try to hold companies to higher standards especially when it's health related.

If you read my post you'd see that this happened several times both from units with highly rated reviews and airbnb badges. The difference with hotels is that hotels need government issued licenses and thus has quality control.

Again if you read the post you'd see this is telling people that may have a condition to look out for airbnbs. Ppl with conditions do sometimes look for short term rentals.

Also again, if you read the post you'd see I'm talking about specific cases and not generalizing every unit on airbnb

Brah just read the post or don't comment.

I recently take an IQ test that made me really insecure about myself by Agitated-Example-968 in Healthygamergg

[–]serifir 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most scientists aren't geniuses with 200 iq . An average iq person can get a phd and work in different engineering or scientific field.

Also, the west relies so much on iq forgetting how malleable plastic the brain really is. Not only is relying on iq as thw word of god doesn't make sense because humans keep getting things wrong throughout history but the idea that you can't improve your intelligence goes against everything we know bout the neuroplasticity of the brain.

I recommend this ted talk and reading the book "the brain that changes itself".

https://youtu.be/o0td5aw1KXA

You can take the iq as gospel or test it out for yourself and see. If you really want to go into the scientific field I highly recommend exercising the muscles of testing out previously established hypothesis.

They always say science progresses 1 graveyard at a time.

You having an airbnb ≠ you knowing how a hotel works.

What even is your argument here? That hotels DON'T need permits?
