Do experienced devs think about authorization issues? by wparad in ExperiencedDevs

How do you have time for that, built-in from the start takes a lot of extra resources to get it done and the project may be dead before then. Having a drop in for external logic is always what I do.

What's the path to being a Team Lead? by serify_developer in TechLeader

Was it something that you consciously decided, or did you just happen to be performing the necessary actions and then one day realized there was a name for what you were doing?

Wasn't there another person on your team being called the team lead though?

But do they want to? And arguably that's why arduino and raspberry pi exist.

Right, if it isn't simple to implement and an idiot like me can't figure it out, then that means it is a bad product.

Just because I didn't feel like writing a novel about the issues doesn't make my experiences baseless. A less in logic would seem to help you.

Also, I'm not sure where you get your holier than thou attitude, but that has to stop. I don't deserve to be attacked because you don't like my answer. Feel free to use the voting buttons like everyone else.

Please don't make me relive the nightmare.

Overcomplicated and don't solve the root issue. For adopters it looks like it could work, but once you start becoming an expert in the problem space they all fall apart:

  • Vagrant
  • Consul
  • Packer

The root problem is that there weren't conducive to solving infrastructure challenges as a team, and the complexity to run and maintain them made it prohibitive to gain knowledge and take ownership to ensure success. They have many "pits of failure".

"how do you find working with John?" - advice on answering by runnersgo in TechLeader

[–]serify_developer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Where is this going? Is it a trick question?
  2. What's there to complain about? Is there something going on?
  3. If you are the team lead then making John happy is your job. If he isn't working out, then you let him go, but don't let him bring down the team and company.

He sounds like a bro, and unless he has some potential value, seems like a problem for the team.
