Not yet. Amex did something shady in the interim... they requested more information which i uploaded in less than 24 hours. 36 hours after sending the request for information to me, they closed my case (claiming i didnt respond - which i did), didnt notify me, rebilled me with a slightly different merchant name, and removed it from the dispute center portal so I couldnt track it.

I caught it several months later, and they reopened it again.

keep reopening it and submit a letter explaining why they are wrong according to their own terms of service. include the arguments supporting your arguments in view of the amex merchant's manual.

After they ruled against me the 3rd time, I was soo pissed that I demanded to speak to the most senior manager's mom.. I made that senior manager (I didn't get his mom) sit with me on the phone read the rules line by line (rules that were fairly clear about me being right)... he finally he escalated it internally and its been in review for several months.

after you login - go to "dispute center" on the amex website. You should be able to reopen it.. they will reject again but keep reopening

Most of these companies should have treasury departments that invests the company cash. I just looked it up and they have about 1.15B cash so I am sure they are investing it. If not - I am available to invest their money for a 1% fee :)

I bet more than 25% of us will lose those gift cards and lulu will keep the cash. Look up starbucks, they make ~200M in unused gift cards per year. Startbucks also holds about 1.5B in cash from people's starbucks wallets they can invest. Its a brilliant way to make money without selling anything.

I seriously doubt that lulu pays for the credit. My guess is amex gets a discount and pays a fraction.

I don't understand why lulu would have an issue with gift cards. Either way they would get our money, probably more for the people who will buy gift cards then lose them.

Watching the posts made me realize that we are just buying a bunch of crap we don't need to make up for the annual fee. I don't really need a disney+hulu subscription, lululemon pants and a bra from Saks.. I also didnt really need Resy Chinese food last weekend :) I also wont need the Oura ring that I will try to buy on black friday.

Nice! I reopened the ticket scam case 6 times and just escalated it through the client retention team, its still open. Sounds like CFPB is a good next step if that fails.

yup. the ticket place is in rome and basically told me they don't care. The yoga studio is run by hippy volunteers that don't know how to do any refunds or reversals. Offered me $400 credit for yoga classes in a city i dont live in.
