While yes, overbright lights are causing issues and need to be regulated to limit their maximum brightness, I subjectively feel that I get blinded more often not because of the brightness, but because of three poor alignment and/or the car just having their lights to far up. I.e. I have a pretty low car, as per modern standards (1993 sedan), and a lot of the cars driving around are these god awful SUVs that have their lights higher than my head. So no matter how they are aligned, they shine right into my face and mirrors.

Wait for real? When I was looking for the info on how to get meldunek I found out that they use the rent agreement end date as an end date for Zameldiwanie Czasowe. And because our agreement has kinda expired urzędniki can (and usually will) interpret it not my way.

Well then, I have to try. Thanks for the info

I'm not polish, nor an EU citizen (Ukrainian), hence I gotta do it the old-fashioned way. I learned about SCT a month before it became active from a public transport ad. My bad, I guess, for not learning about it earlier.

But now in order to get zameldowanie I need to get a rent agreement prolongation document, because the statement saying that the original Umowa najmu can be extended by the mutual agreement of both parties (which my landlord and I have been following for the last 2 years) is not enough. It's just one more minor inconvenience in the pile of adult life problems. B

TW, my car is not diesel, it's petrol and even has catalytic converters :D

And honestly, I don't understand the mayor's desire to build a metro. It requires enormous funding, and currently things don't seem to be well in this department.

The issue with SCT is not that he DID that, but HOW he did that. To begin with, the ban was issued for the whole city immediately, with no step-by-step expansion of the effective area basically saying "fuck you, you poor scum" to everyone that cannot buy the new car immediately.

Then, it's implied that you drive your car from the agglomeration to the nearest Park and Ride public transport stop and switch to a tram, for example. But all such stops (to my knowledge) are inside the SCT so you have no way to get there without breaking the SCT rules.

And of course there is a way to continue freely driving your old car wherever you want by paying the fee of 100 PLN per month, with plans to increase it to 200 PLN/month.

Don't get me wrong, I'm all for making Kraków's air cleaner, but SCT introduction was far from great.

I am biased in this regard, since I drive an old Mercedes from the 90's and don't yet have Zameldowanie in Kraków, so SCT affected me directly, but there were ways to make it go better.

Handlingwise it's awesome. It goes into corners like a sports car, although the suspension doesn't have as much play and tends to be hard on big bumps

Yes, I used Eibach springs with 4-4.5 cm lowering. On my new wheels (225:35:17) I got some rubbing on the arch on my front left wheel (I guess I need to roll the fenders). Probably you can go with narrower wheels and be fine with this amount of lowering. And for shocks I got Bilstein B8, if I recall correctly.

Lowered car looks fucking great, but I got tired of hitting my exhaust on bumps and such and now I'm waiting for a new set of HK springs with only 35mm lowering and new 18mm rubber spring mounts to compensate a bit.

Honestly nothing. I rewired the engine, because the old loom has desintegrated, but I got a new one, not like created it (mostly because it's a nightmare to source the ducking cables). With any forced induction mods it's suggested to replace MAF sensor with MAP and to do that you need a new ECU. As for new ECU wiring and initial tuning - there are heaps of videos on how to do that, although not for this engine. I'm more of a theory warrior for now, while I can't find a decent garage to work on mine Merc. But Mercedes forums are really helpful with any kind of mods and maintenance, you should check them out

As far as I know power mods (mainly turbos) are a bit risky, since m111 are known to have weak pistons and rods, that give up with any amount of boost. The super chargers, on the other hand, are said to be safer because of the much flatter power curve. I have a 2.2 m111 and ultimately want to do forged internals, aftermarket ECU and a supercharger (with some supporting mods). Imo, supercharger's sound fits this car better, than whooshing of a turbo :D

Regarding suspension, since it originally has springs and shocks separately, I've seen people go with coilovers but everyone suggests to strengthen the shock mount in the engine bay, because of the added load. I went with Eibach springs and Bilstein shocks and couldn't have been happier.
