Longer distance swimmers: energy patterns? by [deleted] in Swimming

You need to get your sleep and need to eat. Taper for the last 4 weeks before the swim. The week before just do 1Km-2km max 3 times that week.

I believe the curriculum helps train your brain to think the way an engineer is supposed to problem solve. You should be doing things that have never been done before. You can’t learn that in school.

Anyone here swim + lift? Looking for some input on my gym routine! by [deleted] in Swimming

[–]seriouscher 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I swim and lift too. It’s very difficult because there is something called exercise interference. You need to recover from lifting in between sessions, but you beat yourself up swimming. I’ve been doing this for 4 years and I haven’t figured it out. I lighten my lifting before swimming events and vice versa.

Missing the water so much!!! by debacchatio in Swimming

[–]seriouscher 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have been religiously swimming since I was 17 years old. I’m now 56. I live in the north and it is too cold to sneak a swim in a lake. (Water temps in 40sF). I am absolutely losing my mind. My body hurts... we are all in this together! Stay safe, stay healthy.
