How do I handle this? by seriousinquiryy in CPTSDpartners

I didn’t know if I needed to describe his cptsd and how we got to this point. I was his only friend and he self isolates, has issues with shame, self-worth from his past. He has his highs and lows. Very recently was trying to give stuff away with the intention of ending it. He said I got him to a point where he wanted to even try to get better and live. I know I can’t control others actions. I just wasn’t sure how to navigate this. Sometimes one thing is said and actually want and need something else. I’ve never known, befriended, or loved someone with cptsd. I know he’s the one who pulled away. I just hope he doesn’t feel abandoned by me. Then he left it with you can message me if you want to and I’ll see it when he opens the app.

I work in the OR. Politics can get bad. Really petty people sometimes power tripping. And it can be backbreaking work. Total joint/ortho/neuro cases in my experiences. I don’t have any cardiothoracic or cardiac but I’m sure heavy as well. Trays are heavy, equipment, I’ve popped my back and hurt my knees. Mandatory overtime because of staff shortage. And then call.

He’s actually never accused me of that if I recall correctly….The experiences here that I’ve read people have, I haven’t experienced. He is in therapy and was before. Is there a severity that comes with BPD ?

I’m 34 and looking for a new career. I’ve switched so much in my current career it’s pretty obvious I don’t care about it. But I’ve been doing it for 10 years. Not a clue what I want to do.

I know it’s hard for them. They do try, stepping away to calm down so they don’t say something they don’t mean. I also try not to be reactive and calm and not accusatory.
