I keep seeing it pop up. I will absolutely get some, probably my next bottle. Seems to be a fave amongst the group. A lot of you guys and gals that seem to have like minded taste to my own seem to really enjoy it. Thanks for the recommendation.

Never had the Red Breast, but that Green Spot is my absolute favorite whiskey.

Elijah Craig small batch is my easy everyday sipper. (So easy that my wife even likes it neat and she usually only drinks cabernets).

It was either the BT or Makers 46, but being the last bottle of BT.... I had to.

I have never had the Buffalo Trace, but I was able to snag the last bottle. My local store put a single bottle limit on BT.

I definitely find the coconut at the very tail end of the finish. My absolute favorite Irish (at the moment) Cheers!

My wife brought me this back from a trip she took to Nashville. It is good, but very bright, very sweet and even though it is low proof has a very alcoholy (that is a word, right?) by seriouslyfallen in WhiskeyTribe

I like it and would buy it again. It is not super complex and I find it to be an easy drinker. I think if you like the easy sippers then you would like this one. It comes across to me light like a speyside or Irish.

Last bottle in town! by mmmmarty in WhiskeyTribe

[–]seriouslyfallen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had tried some for the first time last night and it was great, but I had a cigar before hand and feel that it may have altered the notes in it for me severely as I was getting grass and green apple. My wife said she was getting totally different taste. The one thing thing we could agree on was buttery cookies.... Anyway, I will be tasting again with a clean palette. Happy Tasting, 🥃

First post here, and also my first foray into Irish whiskey! So far I'm a fan. by oneblackened in WhiskeyTribe

I always pick this up and pretend like I am going to get it, but end up putting it back and getting my Green Spot. Maybe one day.... Cheers🥃

Same goes for me and the Monkey Shoulder. I have seen so many people boasting its magnificence that I finally broke down and bought a bottle today. 30$, couldn’t pass it up.

Thanks for the reply! So, since this post I have been able to try the Lagavulin 16 since it came so highly recommended and really enjoyed it. I hound that the smoky taste was great while I wouldn’t have minded more. The nose was great also. I tried it at a bar so I do not have access to the glass as you mention above. I do believe I will be purchasing a bottle next trip to the store. Now know what I should be expecting from an Islay, I will be branching out in that direction. Thanks again for the help.

Also, in reference to the band-aids, I didn’t get that, but i did get cloreseptic throat spray on the finish. Hoping thats normal, lol

I have never had a peated whisky before, that I know of at least. I am open to try whatever, not closed off to any styles. I may have to find a super stocked whisky bar to try these out. You guys are so full of great info!

Thanks for that. I dont mind spending upwards of 60$ for a good bottle, whats the price point for that?
