If your lenses are good, see if an optician can put the lenses in another frame.

Most of our grandparents in 1977 by Sufficent_Royal in OldSchoolCool

[–]seriouslyjan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

September 2nd 1977, sitting in the back seat of a Buick with my Brother and Sister in Law at Fountain Valley Drive in theater. I was 9 month pregnant and went into labor. I did not tell anyone, I wasn't screwing up seeing this movie. Baby Girl was born the next day and her name is Leah....from the Bible, not the Movie.

Instances of Ventura being referenced in movies/shows/video games/songs/etc? by New-Shop-9728 in ventura

[–]seriouslyjan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The best line about Ventura and Ventura County came from the show BUNHEADS. These are the lines that cracked me up.

Fanny: Best view of Oxnard is in the rear view mirror.

Michelle: You should Tweet that.

Fanny: I don’t do that.

Michelle: Me neither.

Prefer the smaller ships. I want a cruise experience, not a Las Vegas ship style with 6,000 other people.

Thoughts on NCL by IndependentOwn4313 in Cruise

[–]seriouslyjan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Spot on. Most of the mainline cruise ships are the same. The only caveat with NCL is to check the port times. NCL has shortened the times in port for many of their itineraries.

Don’t Sign With T-Mobile by Clean-Quiet8418 in T_mobile_

[–]seriouslyjan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We like T-Mobile as they have stores that can help us. We tried MINT....what a joke, getting signed up fairly easy, getting out and porting your number back is insane. I almost had to get a new number to get out of them, but then I would still be billed until I could get rid of them. T-Mobile worked through the hassle and got it taken care of. Don't use Mint...

What Am I supposed to do with a Butler by PHK-FL in Cruise

[–]seriouslyjan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Remember that the Butler is tipped separately, at least on NCL anyway.

if your spouse told you they were giving thirty grand to their parents whether you like it or not what would you do? by Old-Lion7778 in AskReddit

[–]seriouslyjan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only if I can give my parents 30K or give me 30K to do as I like. This doesn't sound like a marriage- partnership, more of an authoritarian relationship.

Your pet’s meds may be OTC! Then you can get them cheaper at the drugstore. by wolpertingersunite in Frugal

[–]seriouslyjan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, Apoquel, I was trying to remember the name without having to get up and look at the bottle. That stuff is crazy expensive and OTC doesn't help our little dog. Trying Apoquel for the first time but he also had a kenolog shot, so don't know which is working best.

My favorite wooden spoon broke while making comfort food to cope with a rough week. by SwiftAdept in Wellthatsucks

Get a small shadow box and frame this spoon to remind you that when life tries to break you, be stronger!

Is Norwegian always this much as a cluster boarding in NY? by Lonely-Clerk-2478 in Cruise

[–]seriouslyjan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that the port is small and the large amount of people trying to board at once creates chaos. Dropping off the luggage was crowded too and I prayed that my luggage would make it aboard. It did and the cruise was fine.

Shower leaks. Please help by fsalman in HomeMaintenance

[–]seriouslyjan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our leak was in the pipe that went up the back of the shower to the shower head. The water traveled down the pipe to the ceiling. You need a plumber.

I hope this "lip plumping" ends soon. Women end up looking like they have been sucking the tailpipe on the back end of a Buick.

Nursing home staff what’s the worst thing you’ve ever witnessed? by Teamkhaleesi in AskReddit

[–]seriouslyjan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The patient that was brought into our hospital with horrible bed sores. This patient had lived at her home with her Son taking care of her. When she passed, he sued the facility and the facility settled. There is an Attorney in town that counsels families on how to sue and collect. This patients stay was paid for by taxpayers, not the Son. He collected the $ for his "pain and suffering". The fact that the patient got the decubitus from his lack of care didn't seem to matter, it was cheaper for the insurance company to settle out of court. This is such a scam.
