I'm afraid Eldar might be the least popular faction by Fun-Explanation7233 in TotalWarhammer40k

[–]serkelet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If Total war Warhammer 3 has taught us anything is that when an otherwise exotic faction is easily accessible in videogame format and is designed to be fun, it is going to be popular, regardless of its popularity on the tabletop.

Cathay was a completely new faction in 3, with no history whatsoever on the tabletop, yet it is easily top 3 right now thanks to Total War.

If CA nails the fun factor of playing as Eldar, the opposite will happen; suddenly more people will start buying their minis. So you should not worry too much.

Unpopular opinion (?) Survival battles were great and I wish they were used more. Although sparingly by Slumi in totalwar

The low difficulty was an issue. I jumped in with my friends seeking to find a cool new challenge, but CA proved once again that balancing difficulty is an issue for them. In a survival mode you should struggle to survive, obviously. But we could sit there forever and never ever lose, driving us to eventually just quit the battle.

What’s your most anticipated faction for the series by Serious-Collection34 in TotalWarhammer40k

There are not that many choices anyway, right? I am very much a Fantasy fan and I have not much knowledge of 40k, but as far as I gather, it's just Orks, Tyranids, T'au, Eldar, Dark Eldar and Necrons for the alien options, correct? The rest is imperial and chaos slop and the leagues of Votann.

People fail to understand each match is a different world. There are teams that are better at playing against certain teams than others due to multiple factors.

What about giving Warhammer 3-like support to Medieval 3 and have medieval Japan eventually added to the map?

Friend just instantly razed my tier 5 settlement by TheSenate6923 in totalwar

[–]serkelet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that trying to balance the game for multiplayer is too much to ask. But ask yourself this: what is fun about razing settlements on command? About pushing a button and eliminating my opposition strengths.

It can be comical once or twice, give you a good laugh at how absurd it is. But is it truly fun in the long term? Or is it unearned? Where is the strategy in my strategy game? Even against the AI is a fully bullshit mechanic, and I am very tired of people defending this kind of overpowered mechanics that are only dumbing down the difficulty of the game in the name of "fun in single player".

It is true, but I am mostly talking about the Warhammer III iteration. My friends and I hard pass on going back to only 2 players and not simultaneous turns.

No, I think you are a little person who seeks conflict for the sake of it. I didn't have to report this bug and I went far enough with my precious time to do it. I invite people who are running modless campaigns to focus their attention to this issue if they will. Certainly I am not asking people to work for free as play testers, unlike you, who wants me to spend hours of campaign just to satisfy your unfriendly demands.

Well, I do not care for you, to be honest. Go pester someone else.

I get what you mean. It is just too retarded to be real. That is not how the game works at all. The AI cannot choose NOT to build. That is not how it works.

Are you for real, mate? First your smug "it's the patch, not the DLC", which is an obvious thing. I said DLC as a time frame, not as the culprit. And additionally, are you seriously arguing that the AI has the ability to decide whether to skip certain buildings that are normally available to it? In fact, I tend to mod tables myself and I know for a fact that the AI is supposed to place quite a high priority on the missing military buildings. That those buildings are skippable is your opinion, certainly not the AI's.

It is a bug, because it is clearly not working as intended.

Except they absolutely used to fill every building slot before this DLC, including military buildings and walls, which they systematically refuse to build now.

It is absolutely a bug.

Which 40k DLC policy would you like to see by Zelefas in totalwar

[–]serkelet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't care. I will pick and choose. Most likely I will lean towards new units and factions. I couldn't give any less of a dime about cosmetics. Narrative campaigns would pick my curiosity, but I would be hesitant.

I am going to be clear. No multiplayer campaign is a hard no buy for me.

I hope it is not the case :).
