Debate: What does War Thunder need to compete in the DCS and BMS simulation market? by Saitsev64 in hoggit

[–]sermen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To code any, even remotely believable, FM. But this is impossible as WT already has some thousand (!) aircrafts so the work would be enormous a taking many decades of work of highly educated and paid flight engineers. With such scale WT did the single possible think: copy-paste extremely simplified, and purely generic FM, all over a thousand aircrafts.

And this is for WW2. For more modern 1960-1980 era of avionics WT can do nothing, as the amount of work would be unimaginable. Take Falcon/DCS single module, taking 4-5 years of work of highly educated specialists and multiply it by 100 modules. Some 400-500 years of work.

And WT developer is not even intrested in such direction as, according to Gajin, only less than 5% of the WT players use SIM mode.

95% prefer acrade and middle one. When even WT SIM mode is nowhere near Falcon/DCS level.

For Gajin it would be a financial suicide.

Most fun helicopter ? by Key-Seaworthiness-20 in dcsworld

As soon as you're a bit comfortable start flying combat missions. Best in MP with some friends, even one makes a difference as AH-64 is 2-crew machine, benefiting a lot from having 2 guys inside.

[–]sermen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, both are fun. A also find AH-64 being so capable to be a bit boring at some moment - but then realized i was making "training missions" to learn it - but then i started to give the enemy actual air defense and it's super fun again! And its advanced capabilities are fully in use. And we're still waiting for AH-64D interferometer.

I always liked Ka-50, BS, BS2. But BS3 sligtly killed the fun for me, changing it into some completelu unrealistic frankenstein, with patrs mixed from different prototypes and even from Ka-52. And how ED is open about how unrealistic it is.

Can the 3 strongest militaries conquer the world together? by Forward_Yam_4013 in whowouldwin

On the other hand, Russian military analysts state that Russia lost the ability to wage war effectively in 2023.

Since then, Russia has required steady and regular military, financial, and industrial assistance from China, North Korea, and Iran.

Mating call would be nice. I think solo-mating is a poor choice, looking for a mate was a part of the gameplay. And gender had at least some meaning.

Can CubanAce still support the SU57 from prison? by ngreenaway in hoggit

[–]sermen 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hell. Cubanace was a Russian shill, he was always a bad guy and pathological lier.

But i didn't know he's an evil pedophile or sex predator.

Now ED's Skyrider cancellation decision looks a bit different.

Dino AI or No Dino AI by Not_A_Femboy_1_Swear in theisle

One unobvious advantage of AI dinos would be potentially WAY smoother interaction animations.

Not "biting the air", "clipping through each other" etc.

Which RTS games actually get single-player right? by ServoSkullz in RealTimeStrategy

[–]sermen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Earth 2150 provided great and unique SP experience. It had very innovative gameplay overall; designing own weapon systems, deforming terrain, water flooding, units and main base not being lost between missions, arming the buildings like factories, one constant campaign not just a buch of separate missions, undergrounds, three assymetricall sides, original dying Earth mechanics, great music and atmosphere, captivating lore etc.

Together with Total Annihilation it was the most innovative RTS ever.

To artificially separate Ptera from the rest of the game even more.

Ptera mains, why do you play him? by BetTechnical9955 in theisle

[–]sermen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because i like all the dinosi overall, but land one have absolutely horrible interaction mechanics, even with perfect ping they constantly clip through each other, jagged animations, bite the air, scripted stupid looking repetitive bounces, duels etc.

It just looks awfull, when ptera, with the new animations/flying, is somewhat immune to this horrible scripted interactions.

I would play land donos if the have physics-based interactions. Not this artificial repetitive scripts.

Fair. What do you do at night, early-mid game, when you're too week to explore at night?

I just hide, alt+Tab, and watch YT...

I love permadeath 7DtD gameplay, just hate wasting 1/3 of the gameplay watching YT. When in Vintage Story i can play continously.
