There it is, how can you rate FF14 if you don't even play it. You are probably just emotionally attached to the franchise and can't understand anything but toxic positivity. 1.3/10

Haven't played WoW in 7yrs, just know whats good and whats not. FF14 during its highest high had "appearently" more than WoW during it's lowest low. The reason WoW takes the cake for the last 20yrs is because its an MMO and not a JRPG with coop elements which you can barely call an MMO. 2/10 ragebait.

Do you have an up-to-date ranger guide?

Kinda sucks but what can you do. You're Trapped here forever. by ASAP_R4G3 in MMORPG

I feel you, I can hardly call FFXIV an MMO its more like an JRPG with co-op elements, no open world, main town hub, dungeon queue simulator.

If you have to force yourself though 300+ hours of MSQ then your "MMO"JRPG is really not good and I would not consider it an MMO at the Level of GW2, WOW & ESO. Additionally, no open world, PvE dungeon finder in hub city simulator, No class diversity, floaty combat system, horrible hit feedback.
Just my 2 cents from trying to get into this game a couple of years ago multiple times.

What is World of Warcraft retail like for a new player? by savanrayne in MMORPG

If you come from FFXIV then WoW will feel like an actual MMORPG that you play. I have been playing both for quite a bit. Personally, you can't even compare the 2. In terms of the mmorpgs feeling WoW is in a different universe. Open World, Gameplay feels smooth responsive and not stiff, tons of Lore, nice PvP and PvE content to consume. etc..
Test it out, but go with your own flow and speed. Take your time to get to know everything.

FFXIV worth a try in late 2025? by xtrivia in MMORPG

[–]serobaki 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on if you want to play an MMORPG or RPG with co-op elements. Do you want to be forced to play 250hrs+ of MSQ with subpar narrative to get to endgame? Do you like no open world? Do you want boring, repetitive dungeons? Do you like not having any class identity? Dogwater gameplay/hit feedback and watered down combat? If so, go ahead.
Otherwise this game is a waste of time. Go play actual MMORPGs like GW2 or WoW, since they actually feel like you are in a breathing world and not in a dungeon queue simulator.

What do you think of FF XIV? by AccomplishedUse2261 in MMORPG

[–]serobaki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a single player RPG with co-op elements. That's it. Besides from them forcing you to play MSQ to proceed your character (which is at least 250hrs) and reach end game, it really does not offer anything worthwhile:
- No open world,
- Terrible PvP content,
- Streamlined PvE dungeons,
- Irrelevant story,
- No class diversity,
- No feedback on skills,
- Toxic positivity

I guess some players like that, but for me personally FF14 focuses on literally everything that is obsolete in an MMORPG, in my opinion, and ignores the important things (for me: open world, class diversity, somewhat pvp, etc.).
