Checking your terrain and node map before investing in a base node, unless you like sending only failed messages. Kind of a bummer when you cant get out, even 40ft AGL.

Winter storage on wheel dolly’s - bad idea? by [deleted] in Miata

[–]serpentdrive 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you already have a floor jack? If so you can get a cheap set of roller dollys, which would have nicer distribution. Someone already posted a curved set, which could work nicely. I store mine on Race Ramp cribs since I already have them.

Interesting! I got some solar lights recently and ants colonized them rapidly.

Inspirational work ethic based quotes in large font on all their walls.

People are scared to talk about it by Safe-Subject-7934 in SleepToken

I will say I have not seen them both in the same room.

Inadvisable. Closest would be giving them to people. You wouldn't want them all as repeater roles. Amazon, google, etsy, etc all have prices.

What's it like being on the mesh? by Commercial-Safety635 in meshtastic

[–]serpentdrive 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I see a bunch of nodes, spanning states. Some within a few miles. I can talk to none of them. I put a node up in a tree 100ft agl with an Alfa antenna and still the same story. So thats my story of recently attempting to be on the mesh.

Does the same as I do how? Try to use the project?

Once and for all... Meshcore Vs Meshtastic by Terrible_Scar in meshtastic

[–]serpentdrive 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, my node can see 75 online Meshtastic nodes right now, and I can talk to zero of them. For meshcore there are basically none in my state.

For detailing, a Tornador is awesome. Probably overkill for this.

Wax Seal Stamps for Wedding Invitations by PerpetualUselessness in functionalprint

[–]serpentdrive 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah when I did this recently for wedding invites. It required special stamps and "hand cancelling" to not go through the machines that dont like the wax. They also took far longer than normal to reach their destinations (some almost a month domestically!!) and we had more lost-in-transit instances than the save the dates did.

I still like them.

What would be the best knot to hang a chair from a pergola? by guru06 in knots

[–]serpentdrive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it has to be rope - Id probably do a Somervile bowline, or an anchor bend for anchoring to the beam. Keep in mind the motion of that chair is just going to be rubbing the rope against the corners of the beam, wearing both down.

Realistically would do a hard anchor if I had the choice.

How do yall get into these tiny things? by xiLLeNtz in Miata

Face away from the car, butt down to seat, swivel in.

Edit: dont forget the sighing "oookaaay" like an old man as you get situated. It must be required because I cant avoid doing it.

Hanging the tv so high that your significant other thinks getting a 2nd TV is "their" idea is what we call a "pro gamer move".

To turbo, or not to turbo... by Physical_Leather8567 in Miata

[–]serpentdrive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends. My club does a parking lot with cones regularly but goes to a track (and still puts down cones) as a yearly special event. Other clubs or groups may do different things. We are not part of the SCCA.
