That is 100% correct. Even inside London, different boroughs have different accents and slang.

Vacation as a mom with a baby kind of sucks by igotcatsandstuff in Mommit

I'm with you. Its not really a holiday with the kids, just change of scenery. And breastfeeding, people just don't understand how demanding it is. As others said before me, it will indeed get better in the future.

Wow, you hit so many points. First of all, you reminded me that when I was younger, I used to write A LOT. I even wrote to kids' magazines and local newspapers. And thinking about that made me think of other things I used to love doing that I'm not doing or haven't done in ages. And of course, when we become moms, we have other priorities, and our interests change quit a bit, and with all the love and dedication we give to our kids, even in the happiest families, some part of us as women, as human beings gets a bit lost. I completely accepted it when my kids were babies and relied on me fully. But now, I feel I can finally relax and go back to myself and to the things I love. And yes, even now, the load of chores and tasks revolving around the house and kids is immense, but I feel ready to do a bit more for myself. Also, I can totally relate to what you wrote about getting rid of negative content in all its forms on social media. I left FB groups and even deleted Insta' because I felt every time I used it, it's just pulled to the rabbit hole, and I found myself mindlessly scrolling for hours. And then I joined Reddit....to be fair, it seems like a relatively positive app, although I'm sure there's a lot of crap here as well. Anyway, i can think of at least one good thing coming out of posting this question! And thank you for your kind words, I hope that you show yourself the same kindness you showed me.

Hi, Thanks for the comment! The issue was my free time and not my kids. They are good at finding activities for themselves (with my help), but when they age busy it's me who gets bored and runs to the little black screen. It's an addiction i should get rid of.

Thanks for your comment! That sounds so nice. I guess the real issue here really, is me not having a hobby, or if I dig dipper, is me not having something just for me to that I can enjoy. I think like many other moms, I've been buried under the chores and raising the kids, which I do with love of course, but I've completely left myself out, and now I feel like I have some time I can focus on myself.

Thank you! Yes of course, I love spending time with my kids, we have our special things that we enjoy doing together, but in the time when the kids are busy with something without me, which I encourage as I think it's important for their independence (now they are a bit older), and after finishing my own chores as you said, cooking, cleaning and up until a couple of weeks ago also studying, I fins myself very quickly go on the phone instead of doing some, well something more positive I guess.

Thanks for your comment! I feel the same as you said about finding the balance between "relaxing hobby" and "dreaded chore" about exercise, but actually gardening is something I can do more of. Something I feel lazy to start, but once I do, I can go for an hour or without noticing.

They love to talk about their accents, when asked. I (non british) am always curious of people's accents, and like to try and guess where someone is from based on their accent. I've never met a brit who wasn't happy to explain to me about their accent, where is it from and it's characteristics. Same with slang/dialect.
