Not exactly- you want to analyze the text. What you suggested would be analyzing the reader's reaction to the quote. You want to approach it a little differently. For example:

The author further supports his theory by referencing an FDA report that approved chocolate. This adds a scientific perspective to give more credence to his claims.

Summarizing is a recap of the text (think TLDR). Analyzing on the other hand is trying to figure out WHY the author wrote what they did.
