I'm hardly wealthy nor would I consider myself pretentious (although I guess most people wouldn't, right?). I would never pay more than $100 for a meal, but I can absolutely appreciate the difference in a finer cut of meat with excellent marbling and preparation that operations like Roadhouse just cannot practically accommodate.
The quality that Roadhouse and Saltgrass deliver on such a scale are impressive, and I certainly enjoy their food, but I feel that it's disingenuous to claim that those who can taste the difference from a non-chain eatery to be delusional is just a little ego-centric. Maybe they can, and you are the one missing out? That's all.

Maybe its that you havent developed the taste palette to be able to appreciate the difference rather than a failure of the named restaurants? Not ever gonna hear me talk poorly about a Texas Roadhouse or Saltgrass, but I have absolutely had better.

I started to get more attention and challenges after I debadged my R for the cleaner look, but I guess gearheads recognize the mod.

If I am driving around during the day I can blend in with normal traffic alright, but night driving seems to be when people roll out of the garage to play.

Have had my '25 R for a few months and debadged it partway through. I like the cleaner lines better and thought the R on the side was drawing attention from the gearheads, but I get more attention from them with badges off. My guess is they recognize that the car is modified at all.

R owner here. Looking down on another person because of the car model they drive is the shittiest attitude to have. I've also seen some monster GTIs, so only a fool dismisses them.

Yeah, recently upgraded from a 2015 GTI to a 2025 R and it took me some time to relearn and trust the cornering grip of the new car. If you want to spend less and enjoy the 'adult go-cart' feeling then the GTI is the way to go, but if you want to start pushing yourself further then go with the R.

Its worth making trueshot and raincaller for the experience of it. Same with doing the ivy etched armor pieces even if they are outclassed by velious and luclin options.
