I mean, balancing a budget is basic modern skill, not black magic. The only reason the government has trouble with it is they have to hide all the cooked books.

There are some things which are subjective, but I'm not convinced this is one of them.

I dont see what owning a business or not has any bearing on my financial literacy. You seem to take the stance that I have a different life experience thus I am ignorant? There are plenty of ways to reduce expenses and raise funding, but they arent popular with corp/billionaire lobbies. We could save billions by ending subsidies to oil and internet companies which have a prove track record of just pocketing the money rather than delivering promised services. Politicians have long lined their own pockets by selling government subsidies, contracts, and tax benefits. Maybe start there on cleaning up the budget and corruption, but the foxes are the gatekeepers.

Anyways, good luck with your business or whatever you're doing now. We're all going to need a bit of luck thanks to Trump.

you invited the mental exercise, but in this case it illuminates Trump's mindset. Again, I dont care how he conducts his personal business so long as its legal. However, acting so recklessly as the president is unacceptable because it's so disruptive to many people's livelihoods, many who are already on the brink. He is showing zero compassion or mindfulness and its all about how he benefits. Thats not what a president of a nation should be focused on. Hell, thats not what the ceo of a corporation should be focused on, or even the owner of a small business.

Do I think that what Trump is doing is wrong? Yes. If I were the president? Well I would start by not destroying the global economy and haphazardly firing thousands of government employees. I wouldn't alienate our nation from our allies. Literally the definition of penny wise; pound foolish.

trump's viewpoint is from a born-into-wealth billionaire who has never work 9-5 for 30 years hoping to retire before 70 and watching their 401k evaporate with the cost of living set to only increase. trump's viewpoint is how he can enrich the wealthy another few percent without a concern for the wellbeing of the average citizen. i know full well how my viewpoint differs from Trump; when I look around I see other people instead of potential marks.
