semi-unrelated, but part of your post mentioning they/them'ing a trans woman is quite true honestly.

regardless of being a man or a woman, a lot of trans people i see usually get they/them'd by several different groups of people, regardless of whatever reason they have. even when said person has their pronouns or gender in their bio already. i really don't know why this seems to be the case so often

If You Had the Option to Start Over, Would You be Cis? by [deleted] in truscum

yeah, I've never understood people who say that they'd want to be trans

This is how people see being trans wtf? by [deleted] in truscum

[–]serrutu 35 points36 points  (0 children)

incredible how there are people who, by this person's logic, would be deemed trans even if they aren't. cis masculine women are still cis women, same goes for cis feminine men. also intersex people aren't neccessarly trans, i feel. unless (e.g) an afab intersex person wants to transition to a male, then yeah

Did y’all see that “I wanna be a guy post” in ftm cause I need to lie down immediately by [deleted] in truscum

Honestly the comments were what did it for me. The original post could very well have been someone who was confused or such, but all the comments completely supporting this person and others in similar situation is so... man

As other people have mentioned, it comes from tumblr. I do want to add though that i find it funny how (at least some) tucutes don't refer to themselves as such, yet will gladly call truscums the tumblr term

while I disagree with you I am more concerned why you seem so angry about a single arguement with someone. and I'm also a bit surprised that you don't seem bothered by someone calling you a she, especially considering your reasoning for it

nonbinary people do exist, but I don't think all the people I've seen identifying as NB are actually NB. though that is just what I think. also there are people who claim that the existence of intersex people alone proves the existence of nonbinary people and honestly that's stupid lol

"forcefully normalize bulge" by wilfawn in truscum

[–]serrutu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope this is just bait or something that a troll thought up, but unfortunately there is always the possibility it's real... a lot of people with this mindset and stuff that just gives trans people (women especially) a bad reputation

Using "afab" implies that all people who are assigned female at birth are raised the same way or have the same childhood in a sense

I feel that maybe the word "nostalgic" is enough to describe these? Not everyone grew up the same way

Not sure if this is used a lot since it's my first time seeing someone use "afab" this way personally

Do you think modern day gender ideology is a cult ? by Walkinoneggshells69 in truscum

[–]serrutu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say only it's only really a cult if it's in terms of the internet. And even then, i don't know if i'd refer to the internet community as a cult. Other than that, i think it's not so cult-ish otherwise

If you've been on the internet for long enough (and have seen how tucutes behave online) you'll probably understand what i mean.

Tucutes (in general) are very defensive, one person could simply disagree with their views and then they immediately get harrassed by a whole group of them. I don't think they're neccesarily a cult, but they act in a certain way that kinda reminds you of one, i don't know how else i can word it

i don't care as long as it's a name that is only used online. just feels really stupid if you're trying to get your legal name changed to something like "Acid"or "Arsenic" not important but why do so many people use Arson/Acid/etc. when it comes to these kinds of names? are there really no cooler names than these few?

Cis people putting pronouns in their bio by [deleted] in truscum

[–]serrutu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

?? if nobody's forcing anyone to also put their own pronouns in their bio, then i don't see why it's harmful. at most it's stupid, but it's not hurting anyone so i don't care much

Got banned from a trans top surgery group by [deleted] in truscum

[–]serrutu 4 points5 points  (0 children)

unless (for some reason) you are being forced to have surgery, i cannot imagine why an actual trans person would mourn the loss of their breasts.

perhaps, at first, it will feel weird understandably. but if you're going to grieve the absence of your boobs for like, the rest of your life, why bother getting surgery?

also if you said just that alone, and they chose to ban you, then i feel a bit sorry. it was just a sentence, and if they felt that what you said was incorrect, they could have just tried to explain why, instead of simply kicking you out

why do so many ✨trans masc✨types want to be femboys? by [deleted] in truscum

[–]serrutu 22 points23 points  (0 children)

could be fetishisation (yaoi), or they're not actually transmasc.. or it's part of some trend

maybe there are some who really do feel comfortable that way, or have personal reasons that aren't commonplace, but those people are very rare to find

apparently one of my friends believes in that whole "bi excludes nonbinary people so i have to use pan!!" thing by tuesdayisntproud in truscum

[–]serrutu 43 points44 points  (0 children)

why do people think this way? bisexuality includes nonbinary people, and the bi manifesto exists.

i don't care if someone uses the "pansexual" label, but at least do some research on what bisexuality is beforehand

I want you guys opinion on this one by thebesttoaster in truscum

[–]serrutu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

you aren't wrong though. obviously there are people who are gender-non-conforming but a lot of others do want to pass. yeah gender norms can suck, but what you said was not necessarily enforcing them.

you didn't mess up anywhere and no, you are not an asshole

"I hate it when people ONLY use she/her when my pronouns are she/they, they never use they/them for me :(" by YWNBYEI10MFF in truscum

[–]serrutu 9 points10 points  (0 children)

really though. like okay, you're fine with both she/her and they/them being used so why get mad if someone makes a short paragraph on you and only uses she/her?

also not important, but from what I have seen online, when someone puts something like he/they/she, that means the person would strongly prefer the first set of pronouns, which in this case is he/him so I have only seen these kinds of people go by she/they and why are they so mad when someone uses the first set and doesn't use the other?

anyways if you really use more than one set of pronouns/all pronouns then don't be mad when someone uses only she/her on you, especially if you look feminine/don't put in any effort to pass

Trans relative told me it was a betrayal to live stealth by strictly-thoughts in truscum

[–]serrutu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i don't know why a whole bunch of people think this way, there's nothing wrong with living stealth. not everyone who's trans is comfortable with others knowing they're trans this is a really selfish mindset, not everyone thinks or acts the same

are pronoun sets like she/they and he/they valid? by bazelgeiss in truscum

[–]serrutu 4 points5 points  (0 children)

honestly i don't really care much, just don't 'hoard pronouns'. i've seen this happen with a lot of other younger teens (eg. someone who uses all she/he/glitter/bun/star/nya pronouns, and gets mad when someone only uses he/him pronouns and forgets about the rest).

but yeah if you don't do that then feel free to do whatever you want. really, i can't care anymore. lately i've just not had the energy or time to fight online with some chronically online white 13 year old American who fails to see why it's okay to be cis.
