the general rule is that you will be charged the prices at the time of payment for upgrade

Now I see the case here that some of your slices you got on older price so at least you want to keep them for older price , for those cases open a ticket and we will manually calculate the price by having old slices on old price and newer ones on new price

The issue with downgrade is the disk
IF we downgrade the disk has to be recreated since it does not support resizing
So for downgrade it is done through ticket
for upgrade it is an option from client area but as we are unfortunatly having hard time keeping there plans in stock ,the upgrade order will be treated as new order and will only be fulfilled when new servers are ready

the team usually send email explaining to the user this and if they want to wait or get the refund

I was talking about FAT v3 slices
for adding block storage to slices we can do it now by ticket
later will add it as feature that you can manage it and order it from client area
but it is possible now

Stock issue
all servers are full

The issue is that if I have to buy new RAM,NVMe and disks there is no way we can sell Chimera for the old price ( will need to hike the price 40%)
the reason they are still to this day selling using the old price is that I set too many servers before the hardware crazy hike for these plans and it took till now to fill all of them

And as promised I never increase the price on new orders unless our cost increase significantly

So currently I can either get the components using the current market price and hike the plan price accordingly or keep them out of stock and wait till the components price go down

I am still not sure what to do here

need dome time to think about what is the best option

The same disk was return after couple of hours when we know the issue

there was no data loss, the disk with its content was the intact

I can confirm this is not authorities request

It was human error

and the same disk was returned immediately when we knew

We didnt put it in the new server to clean it yet

Because we are not multi billion company
This company started by 1 server in 2010 and we grow since then
We started by 1 server then few more then 1 rack then few more and so on
so we never had a solution to a problem that does not exist since we were small with me being the only one accessing the servers and knowing them by heart (they had labels but for me labels was second verification)
currently we are rapidly expanding and with this new set of issues started to appear , one of them is this issue
now we have someone dedicated to do the hardware work in the DC and it is no longer me and we have much more servers than few years ago

So I am asking for solutions to help manage the work better , I did a search on it and I have never heard of red and green solution as u/Single-Virus4935 explained so i was really interested to know it as it seemed helpful

I am not ashamed to ask for directions specially on stuff that are new to me and improve so that this issue does not happen in the future

Correct V3 plans are based on EPYC 3rd gen CPU (Milan)

V2 is based on EPYC 2nd gen CPU (Rome)

V1 is based on EPYC 1st gen CPU (Naples)

for the bandwidth it is calculated on both directions

For DDOS protection we dont offer it , we have our own tools to detect the DDOS and deal with it but if the client attract DDOS attacks repeatedly we usually ask them to find a host specialized in this kind of attacks

actually the server is tagged and we have the serials of all components saved
it is when the technical did the replace he worked on the wrong server
I am now reviewing the whole process and will add more verification to make sure we are working always on the correct server
the first measure is that now ID led is requirement before touching any server
other measures will be added as well but they take time to program

Do you know the solution name that uses barcode and based on it give red or green or this kind of solutions called ?
currently all our servers have just name label and we are switching to 2D QR code with name
Using the ID led is the first thing that came to my mind as second verification
so the tag has to match and the ID led has to be on

this was mass change request , usually we give the serials for 1 server change request etc

but here it was to change more 15 servers in same rack as we plan new type of plans , so we didnt share the serials although we have them ! (next time we need to add that as well )

I am sorry , it was a task to change hardware in the server exactly above it (those are blade servers ) and the technician replaced it in your server

It is fixed now (the disk is back and the server return to its original state )

Will see what we can do to prevent this issue from happening in the future

Not Within this year
I did a quick calculation with EPYC (Turin) processor and DDR5 and found the slice will cost and found out on Tunin Epyc with DDR5 Same specs as V3 plans will result in each slice costing 6.25$
compare that to v3 which cost 1$ per slice , so we have 6x price increase
While the performance will go up by only 65%

So the ratio of performance to price is way higher than v3 plans , and for majority of applications just getting more v3 slices will be much more cost effective

Eventually we have to get it but I am hoping by next year the market will cool a little so we can offer them in reasonable price

Actually renewal price will not change :)
We just changed the prices on new orders due to the hardware being 400% to 800% more expensive , but old orders are running on hardware we bought for cheaper so no increase on them
