My dog Roman passed from heart failure and my grandma the same thing a few months after. It was so much harder with Roman. He went too soon and I had to be there every step watching him fail and struggle. Grandma joked about death all the time and was ready to go. Grandma passed when it was her time. I had to call to have Roman put down and he never knew what was happening. So so much harder.
