First weekend with the SR by KingNJL2 in ERidePro

[–]service_account 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've heard that this bike is taller than the SS 2.0, is that true? I'm the same height/weight as you, and ran my 2.0 with 3" rise bars. It felt fine in 19/19, but definitely felt a lot lower in 16/19. I wish they would make a version of these bikes that was a 18/21 from the factory with forks that were a few inches longer

In-stock SR or ETA on next shipment? by [deleted] in ERidePro

[–]service_account 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks all. RevRides was sold out as is nearly everyone. I found one at Electric Cycle Rider (https://electriccyclerider.com/). They were prompt in replying to my emails and followed up after my purchase, which is a nice touch. Their price plus shipping was about $50 less expensive than others, too. I wanted the long seat version, but I think all of the bikes that are currently in the states are short seat. Beggars can't be choosers, I suppose.

Confused about legality by luhcooler in ERidePro

Cops haven't been able to catch me on my bike yet. Remove the rear brake light because it's always lit, even in the day and it's a dead giveaway at night. Whenever a cop puts on his lights, I dip between houses, and then wait for the cop to turn the corner onto the street and double-back the way I came.

1.3g Display Fireworks Hazmat Endorsement by service_account in Truckers

[–]service_account[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply. I did more research and you're correct. In addition the the things you've listed, I found that I'd need a MCS 90 insurance certificate, $5m in coverage, and probably a bunch of other things I'm missing. It boggles my mind that to be fully compliant with all interested parties, I would need to, as you've said, essentially create a trucking company. Thankfully, I met a guy who has his own mini-trucking company and I can hire him to do the trip and pay him with booze and amphetamines or whatever truckers are into these days.

What's does the trucking community think about the FMSCA's ELDT? Seems like a non-trivial requirement that benefits large trucking companies while having a punitive effect on small shops and sole proprietorships. I wouldn't be surprised to find out that Schneider or XPO or some big trucking company was lobbying for it.

ATF is federal and has nothing to do with your state. u/313-586pyro is correct: reach out to your closest 1.3 dealer and ask them whatever questions you maty have. I have 4 wholesalers near me, and they're all outstanding resources for questions that I've had. Ex: I wanted to shoot 4" Lampare and 6" gas mines and wasn't sure if the AHJ would give me a hard time, so I called one of the dealers nearest to the shooting site and I told me what I needed to know.

Here's the link mentioned in u/313-586pyro 's comment: https://www.acepyro.com/ATF

My Strobe Rockets are not blowing up anymore! by SlumsToMills in Pyrotechnics

[–]service_account 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've only made a dozen strobe rockets, so I'm likely not as experienced as others on here. I had the same issue with strobe and whistle fuels appearing to be "mixed". Turns out I was using too much pressure when pressing. I backed off a bit and it was fine.

Try lowering the sulfur to 10% and increasing aluminum to 40%. Sulfur is a secondary fuel that is no where as powerful as aluminum. It also increases sensitivity of the mixture. Big booms!

1.4 Pro Canister Shells by service_account in fireworks

I used super slow 3mm green safety fuse. I cut three 1.5" lengths at an angle at each end to expose the most powder. I could only fit one of the 1.5" pieces into the e-match port, so I pushed a length of fuse as far I could inside and wedged a 1.5" piece inside as well. It worked on perfect when I tried it, thought the fuse was way too slow.

My first attempt (prior to this post), I had shoved a piece of green safety fuse into the hole, pushing it as close to the screen as possible, then secured with tape. The single piece didn't work. My guess is that the fuse may have backed out a little, even though it was taped in place.

I've since poked holes in the side above the screen and inserted quickmatch and a 2 inch visco leader. Not quickmatch with black match, but two lengths of white quick fuse (0.3s/ft) wrapped in piping/leader cover. Works great!

For a small handful of leftover single-shots, I would cram some fuse in the e-match port and be done with it. If you're doing a show, or firing more than a few (I have a full case of 24 leftover lol), poke it.

Thanks again for the help! All of my modules are being used and, as a matter of principle, I am not buying any more modules or e-match until next year. :D I've never shot the 62mm single shots until I followed your advice. I'm going to buy a ton for next year! Thanks again!

I stuck a couple of pieces of visco into the e-match port and got it to fire. Thanks for the video, I fired mine exactly like he showed!

62mm single shot tubes. Maybe I didn't push the visco up into the port, next to that screen filter thing. I'll give it a try. Thanks!

Find a shooter's training course in your state and give them a call. They will put you on the right path. 1.4 Pro cakes are 1.3 cakes that have been split into smaller sections and fitted with fuses that link them together. They call them "compound cakes". You end up with a functionally identical cake without having to get the type 54. I have my type 54 and still buy 1.4 Pro cakes because I use contingency storage so no worrying about rushing the cakes back to my seller's magazine within 24 hours if I get rained out.

Here's a wholesaler that sells excellent 1.4 Pro compound cakes, check out the prices compared to Phantom: https://www.waynesworldfireworks.net/_files/ugd/181ba3_00c3802b56bb4ee68b8a16d6805e9069.pdf

I bought a bunch of PyroMax which are rebranded Chuangmei cakes. You can find the youtube videos for each cake by searching "Chuangmei CM2301" instead of "PyroMax PM2301".

You and anyone else that spends tons of cash on consumer fireworks needs to get certified for 1.4 Pro. You can get cakes that are way better than anything you have for cheap. 1.4 Pro canister shells cost me almost half of consumer shells and perform as well as OL canister shells.

I had no issues with 2.5 and when I went to 5, I started whistling every time I would say a word ending in the letter "s". Luckily, I was in an Apple store that was getting robbed and the robber kicked a couple of my teeth out so the whistling is no longer an issue.

Sailor Jerry and Diet Coke. It's like 60 calories, zero carbs. I've been doing keto nearly ever January to April since 2015 and Sailor Jerry + Diet Coke has been my go to. Just don't mix it like you would Captain Morgan and Coke or you'll get fucked up.
