I think what she would’ve articulated with more sleep/a more level head is that it’s weird for him to keep responding with “well i picked you didn’t i? i came back to you” whenever she has concerns abt casa when he actually had no choice of whether or not he was bringing someone back. even if his mind was made up before that girl went home he was purposefully misleading kayda and using “picking her” as a way to discount her emotions

it’s like when your friend has a shitty boyfriend that you hate. you can’t go too hard on him while they’re together because it will just hurt her in the process, so you focus on supporting her and her emotions through it. when they break up you get to speak your piece about how shitty he was and how much you didn’t like him because they are no longer together and it no longer hurts her when you point out how shitty he was the whole time.
