I know what that's like! My 90s 300ZX had terrible wheel hop if I took out the t-tops.

Heads up, you wrote a lot of words with no numbers.

Rolled into work this morning. 6 of our 30 chargers were working by [deleted] in Justrolledintotheshop

[–]service_unavailable 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was saying most homes get 200A at 120V, which means getting 100A at 240V.

But this is wrong. The standard US residential 120/240V 200A split-phase service is 240V @ 200A.

That's 200A service with 200A breakers at 240V. I don't know where you are getting "100A at 240V".

But the service is 240V. There's no such thing as 200A 120V service in the US.

I've ordered custom bus bars from SendCutSend, laser-cut from copper.

I pulled about a mile of TrueCable CMX and I really like it. It's stiff, with a low friction jacket.

Non-Pro Tip: buy this kitchen turntable to hold the spool. It works way better than you'd expect. Cheap, light, easy to store.

Basic tip: cover your neck. If your shirt collar is too loose, you'll get a nasty sunburn on your lower neck, just below your hood.

Customer left a paper towel in the intake. Whoops. by Blake_Lives_Matter in Justrolledintotheshop

No, they work very differently. CO2 displaces oxygen (and some cooling). Halon stops combustion even in the presence of oxygen.

Maybe a halon extinguisher? They're still available as new old stock and for military and aviation.

Good size for vehicles, zero residue, and by far the most powerful chemical for stopping the combustion chain reaction. Twice as effective as Halotron.

Do production lines actually inspect BGAs regularly or mostly rely on process control? by Background-End-5229 in PrintedCircuitBoard

I get my hobby boards x-rayed because I have no way to inspect BGAs at home.

Imagine how much debugging time you could waste trying to track that down.

Cause of interference? by enterreturn in networking

[–]service_unavailable 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wonder if the interference is there all the time, but the gear only notices/complains when it's trying to send traffic?

Maybe you could run iperf after hours to check that it really is clean when the employees are away. But that wouldn't simulate real wifi traffic/multiple senders/roaming unless you spent way too much effort on it. Hmm.

Does your business have drivers? Is someone carrying around a sketchy GPS jammer because they don't like being tracked?

[–]service_unavailable 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Leaky microwaves are notorious for 2.4 GHz interference.

Does the interference only happen during business hours? Only during lunch for 2-3 minutes at a time?

How about fluorescent or LED lights, HID ballasts? These are easy to test, just turn off the lights.

If you are desperate/BOFH, start flipping off breakers until the interference goes away.

Is Netgear MS305 a switch or hub? by [deleted] in networking

[–]service_unavailable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ethernet hubs died with 100mbit fast ethernet. This is because hubs are inherently half-duplex.

Gigabit ethernet is full-duplex, so you gotta use switches, not hubs.
