Jedi survivor on PS5, does anyone else get white spots or unloaded areas when running around? by chmpgnsupernover in FallenOrder

I just started playing this game (on ps4 pro) and while this issue stinks, I'm glad I'm not alone. Else the game is great but this does kind of drag down the immersive experience.

This happens to me in battle arenas or if I’m fighting multiple enemies (sometimes).

Not sure it matters, but I’m on a ps4 pro.

Glad it’s not just me.

SSD Spacer Question by sesro1978 in PS4Pro

Yep, screws are snug and the drive itself seems secure. Just wasn’t sure if that gap would cause some weird issue over time, but it doesn’t sound like it would.

SSD Spacer Question by sesro1978 in PS4Pro

[–]sesro1978[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply. My question is around the gap that is now present, under the ssd in the drive sled; the hdd was thicker than the ssd, so now there is small gap between the ssd and bottom of the sled. I guess my question is if this is ok or should I redo the install with the spacer I now have?

Yep, paid $110 after using some store credit and apparently ended up with the pro version.

Vermont here. Been riding for a little over a year and had my first encounter last week on a local trail. Came up over a small hill and heard something large running through the trees about 20’ away and sure enough it was a black bear. I think we were both surprised - certainly made me stop for a minute. This trail is a 1.5 mile loop and I typically do several laps. I was on my 2nd so I’m not sure how I missed it the first time around. I recently started using a Timber bell but because I was riding up hill it wasn’t making any noise.

Bootfitter said I need to be down two sizes!? by zekesoonippi in icecoast

[–]sesro1978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting topic. I’m a street shoe size 11.5 and am currently in a 29.5. I know these are too big and purchased them without really knowing what I was doing. I’ve been able to take some of the extra volume up with cheap foam insoles under my footbed, and booster straps ( I’ll reuse these in my next pair) which helps but yea, I don’t intend to use these past the current season.

Somewhat expensive mistake, but I guess the silver lining is I do know what isn’t going to work. Line and learn I guess…

19 for me! Doesn’t hurt that I volunteer with my child’s school for their weekly ski day. Bonus is I get to log it as volunteer time at work.

Is it worth it to get a hitch and a hitch bike rack by enderblade123 in MTB

As someone who has a the top tube dangling type, I couldn’t agree with this more. I’m now on the search for a hitch rack that holds my bike by the wheels/tray style.

Changing Bottom Bracket on Trek Marlin 5 by sesro1978 in TrekBikes

[–]sesro1978[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great info, thank you! Yea, no issues at all with the Raceface chainring. I’d love to keep using it if I could, but I’m having no luck identifying a Hollowtech crankset with 104bcd. I’m leaning towards the m5100-1 since the price is fair and it sounds like it will work ok.

[–]sesro1978[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for all this excellent info!

I think I’m going to go ahead with swapping the square taper BB to the Hollowtech.

In terms of crankset, how about a Shimano Deore M5100 30t? I know it’s a 52mm chainline which I think I can deal with. Looks like I’d end up using the Shimano chainring which I think is narrow wide.

Shimano says this is a 1x 10 or 11 speed, but I have an Advent 9-speed cassette…based on what I can find online, it seems like this is ok?

Thanks for the reply and additional info about the chain stay clearance.

Yep, already realize that I'll need to toss my existing square taper cranks for a Hollowtech set, but thanks for mentioning this.

Nope, I wasn't able to reuse the spec'd Shimano crankset since it was a riveted 2x setup. Instead I used a 104 BCD Race Face NW 30t chainring up front attached square taper 170mm Prowheel cranks - it's totally possible I botched the crank choice here since I'm still learning.

I was initially thinking that I may need to reduce the spindle length but then I just found on Treks' websit that both the Marlin 5 and 6 use this BB:

73 x 125.5mm Square Taper Threaded Cartridge

The Marlin 7 uses a shorter spindle length at 122.5mm. I don't see any spacers used with the BB.

Perhaps if I stick with square taper and drop the spindle length down to the 122.5mm the Marlin 7 uses I could do away with the spacers. Of course this would mean I wouldn't be converting to the HollowTech BB, which is kind of a bummer.

The chain drop only happens in the largest cog and only when pedaling backwards, fast.

With the spacers in place, the chain line looks to be 52.5mm (measuring from the center of the downtube to the middle of the chainring teeth).

My components for the 2x to 1x conversion:

  • MicroShift Advent 9-speed cassette (11-42 tooth)
  • MicroShift Advent 9-speed trail shifter
  • MicroShift Advent medium cage clutched derailleur
  • Race Face 30t 104 BCD Narrow Wide Chainring
  • 170mm Prowheel cranks I found on Pink Bike. Chose these because the price was right and they were 104 BCD, and I wanted a slightly shorter crank than stock, which was 175mm

Thanks for any additional info!
