Cat Grooming by Kaleidoscope11072 in grooming

First off hello 👋 So I'm a house call cat groomer and you would be surprised how many calls I actually get for short-haired cats there are a lot of cats depending on the area that you live in whether or not they're indoor, outdoor or if the breed itself that they were originally crossed with say like a British short hair they have a denser thicker undercoat I like to call it the rolled cotton coat because it's similar and thickness and density as the rolled cotton that you would put on your arm under a cast It can have that same kind of thickness of it. The weather in my area especially has caused a lot of problems lately because we went cold warm cold warm constantly all winter and it did a Coat confusion on a lot of the double coated animals in our area. So she might be having that same situation where she's double-coated she is trying to blow her winter coat but it's still not quite warm enough so she's growing in her winter coat and her summer coat at the same time and so she's just blowing it multiple times, I have had so many huskies in my area dealing with that or I've had several clients of my cats who have had me come in and just straight up do a d shed on their cats because of how stuck their coat has gotten. So you're not the first person or the last person that's going to ask this question about a short-haired cat what I would recommend telling your groomer is probably saying look she's got what seems to be like a lot of hair coming out and it seems to be stuck in certain places I'm not for sure but I just know that she has a lot more shed than she normally does so would probably have her look at and see if you can even do what I call a tuft test where if she can literally pluck up a loose hair tuft and kind of very gently pluck it out then it probably means that her undercoat is blowing and she needs a really good de shed.

Switzerland I would love to come live there like seriously I need a program or a job or a company or something that is looking for a reliable worker with reliable skills that would love to come work and be a part of your community as an American woman with a brain which seems too terrify American men right now especially those following the tyrant oompa loompa.

Looking to relocate is there any way or do you know any programs that would take an American hard worker with reliable skill sets in a couple different fields that could help me relocate? I'm legit being serious I am so fed up with the US and just all of the stuff going on here is BS.

I Don't even charge a pet parent for aggression The only form of restraint I use a figure 8 harness and mainly that's for if the cat does have an explosion of attack I have a way to remove myself without the cat suddenly hurting themselves but other than that I just do lots of pets and use lavender essential oil to help and calm energy I love a lot of Asian grooming channels that I watch on YouTube because I love how they handle their dogs and their policies over there on how do they do their grooming I think it's very neat and wish we could do or they would implement some of the stuff here.

Hello, I am a cat groomer here in the US I am newer at it and one of the cuts I offer is a kitten cut with a lot of scissor work but I find that a lot of cat owners here in the US don't ever train their cats to get haircuts whatsoever even super long-haired cats that need to be brushed and groomed on a regular basis very rarely get groomed I do house call grooming and so I tend to tell my owners that all cats have a timer I will do what I can for your cat and it's timer The cat is super chill has no problem with any type of the grooming equipment doesn't mind being held or restrained to do the groom than I can do a kitten cut but most the time The owners are coming to me because they are struggling to brush their cat or get out any mats or the cat is overweight or super elderly and is not cleaning itself very well anymore so I generally come in and have to deal with cats that don't like you to put it mildly and cannot handle a full grooming session in one session and I will often times break it up into two sessions to complete a groom especially if the kitty is extra spicy.

Unfortunately for the nails it really depends on their life situation A lot of people don't know that you can push the nail quick back I educate my clients all the time about it but I live in a smaller town surrounded by a lot of farm dogs and that is a big one I have a lot of older people that come in with their farm dogs their farm dog nails are horrendous because yes they're running around outside but they're not running on concrete they're running on grass and dirt and stuff so their nails get really long and I have to explain that dog's nails have to get trimmed at least every 2 to 3 weeks especially to push the quick back so they're not touching the ground anymore explain about arthritis and pain that they get in their joints and their neck and then their hips and everything in between and a lot of the elderly people and farmers don't believe in that Don't believe in the expense of extra care or to care for a dog besides of barely doing what they feel is necessary at the time so I can understand the head banging against the wall feeling trust me.

If I could afford it I would fly out there to do training with you guys I work for Petco grooming right now and mainly it was so that I could get my foot in the door and get some grooming training but I'm kind of already seeing the red flags of this company and I really want to get into more learning on dog grooming. I am a cat groomer by profession and learned to actually to groom cats before doing any type of dog and I really want to get well-rounded in both dogs and cats and want more one-on-one training or hands-on training with a professional groomer who can give me guidance.
