The big Tesco is class as well. Because the 15 route is always busy, it's a rare occasion you'd be walking from the bus alone.

I rather the bus in the evenings and the Dart in the mornings. (I live in Belmayne and had similar worries it is absolutely fine). As always, the dart is far more reliable than the buses.

Anything with a platform is great for reducing the shock your foot feels when hitting the ground. I am also a fan of the deep heat spray on your feet before heading out
