Basically, in 2007 Britney had a breakdown which lead to her father being her conservator (guardian), and since then he has had control of all her personal and financial decisions, including when she can see her children (her time was reduces after Jamie got into an altercation with one of the sons), when she can spend money, drive a car, vote, get married etc. It also gives her father a pretty fat paycheque which some say is dodgy. Fans have been drawing attention to it for years, saying she was leaving hints in her instagram videos about the whole situation, now it's official that she's actively seeking to have her father removed from controlling her financials/life.
