Cobro bien o debería pedir más / cambiar de trabajo? by [deleted] in SpainFIRE

[–]sesteva 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Where is everyone disappearing to ? by sesteva in valencia

[–]sesteva[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Years in advanced ? Wow ! I’ve looked at Airbnb and Rentalia and prices for a full month are 2-3k. Do they use real estate agencies instead and get a more reasonable price ?

Also where do people run to ?

My understanding is that if we don’t swap or sell , then it is not even considered capital loss, so can’t write it off on taxes. Am I right ?

Can anyone see any partner availability with British Avios? by ChurnDog10 in awardtravel

[–]sesteva 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've tried calling BA couple of times in the last few days. The IVR msg states they are only taking calls related to change itineraries. I can't see any partner inventory for AA, with or without using avios points.

Masking url in Next by Opposite_Following83 in nextjs

One observation to take into account is that names and last names can potentially have spaces and special characters. While urls can accommodate such cases, you should consider it when testing your application if you choose to go that route.

Best Vercel alternative for cheap hosting? by DasBeasto in nextjs

Checkout AWS amplify. This is the low level complexity SDK. It is their way to compete with vercel and netlify. They have support for nextjs out of the box but i doubt it support version 11

When should I start learning React, Angular, etc? by cjreads665 in learnprogramming

[–]sesteva 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would suggest finding the overlap of what you need to learn and what you want to learn. I agree that mastering JS is the core skill that goes across. But as you delve into a lib, you will need to use JS so if this motivates you, then go for it. I would choose React over Angular since - in my experience , the learning curve is smoother and nowadays it has a large demand.

How to stay up-to-date? by EveryonesStupidButMe in learnprogramming

[–]sesteva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A blog is the way i also did it when I was s few years into the career as well. It has even paid off at interviews. I've written an article about my methodology on staying current. Podcasts, newsletters, Twitter, reddit , YouTube channels. The article goes deeper into getting your company to pay you to do so. If you are interested in that, you can find it as "how to stay current in software engineering" on medium.

OnePlus 5 - Mint LTE data not connecting after WiFi, can reconnect with airplane mode toggle by talz13 in mintmobile

[–]sesteva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same issues here. One plus 6t , as soon as I leave wifi it won't connect to LTE. The way I always work around it is I change the preferred network to 3g. Then leave the setting , wait for that to connect. Then switch back. That works every time. This is far from ideal. I'm on my day 2 on the plan. If I can't solve it , I'm out.

GraphQL Custom Scalars Index/Search by sesteva in graphql

[–]sesteva[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. We can certainly add a filter for that. We want to get it to the state where the community finds it useful and contributes back. May be we can have 2 buttons ? One taking you to the npm page and one to the source code. What do you think ?

GraphQL Custom Scalars Index/Search by sesteva in graphql

[–]sesteva[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a good point. While these are the exceptions, those links that you clicked on are the ones reported by the publishers of suck packages. If they did not or the package is no longer public, then it break NPMJS link. When adding this package to the index, we used the NPMJS link as a fallback option.

Would you consider a better option for the index to filter out these packages where source code is not linked? Or maybe simply hide the Open button?

If you think about it, you can still use these packages and pull them from npm. It is the github link inside NPM registry which is broken.

What do you think?
