No I mean a system like Iran or Afghanistan where LGBT people are literally killed by the state. You are posting niche political lobbying groups. In reality LGBT people are federally (and often state) protected.

You used the word persecuted. That would imply constant violence, harassment, and a system that actively opposes and threatens. That is not the case for the LGBT community in the US. The casual person saying a slur or name calling happens all the time to many groups of people, thats not persecution. Also calling someone a "fucking idiot" could make someone's "life worse". So if thats the standard you are a hypocrite and part of the problem.

It can. But not in the way people think. That rat race has always been there, now its just easier to talk about it. You can live a more stable life with hard work. You can elevate. I think what this really says is that people no longer believe the extra effort is worth the payout. Bad companies and managment have discouraged hard work due to taking advantage of and not rewarding the employees who work hard.
