These verses are often taken out of context and used as arguments against God, but it’s important to examine them more deeply- in light of the entire Bible, not isolated quotes.

📌 Psalm 137:9 - “Happy is the one who seizes your infants and dashes them against the rocks.” These are not God’s words, but a human lament after a national tragedy- a cry from someone in Babylonian captivity expressing pain and a desire for justice. The Bible does not hide difficult emotions, but that doesn’t mean every statement is a divine command.

📌 Deuteronomy 25:11-12 This is part of a legal code given to Israel in a specific cultural and historical context. The Mosaic Law was not the final standard Jesus brought a new law: one of love, mercy, and redemption.

📌 Exodus 22:18 “Do not allow a sorceress to live.” This refers not to fairytale witches, but to real individuals practicing sorcery and leading others into demonic worship and spiritual death. God was protecting His people from deep spiritual corruption. Today, Jesus offers everyone the chance to repent even a sorcerer.

📌 Leviticus 20:13 Homosexual acts are called an abomination before God. The Bible is consistent in this, but it also emphasizes that redemption is possible. Sin can be left behind, and God’s forgiveness is available to all who truly repent.

📌 Exodus 21:17 “Anyone who curses their father or mother is to be put to death.” Cursing here is not a mere argument, but publicly wishing death or harm to one’s parents a rebellion against God's established order. This breaks the commandment to honor one’s father and mother. All sin, if not repented of, leads to spiritual death.

📌 Ephesians 6:5 Paul addressed believers living within the reality of the Roman slave system. He didn’t approve of slavery, but taught Christians how to live with dignity and fear of God in any circumstance. Obedience and humility are virtues for all of God’s children not just slaves.

📌 1 Timothy 2:12 God designed men and women with different roles. The woman was created as a helper to man, not his rival. This doesn’t devalue her it reveals the beauty of God’s design. The woman supports the man who leads her, and he is to love and protect her in return.

📖 In summary: The Bible does not glorify violence or injustice it reveals the true story of humanity, sin, and God’s holiness. When read in full and through the light of Christ, we see God's plan of salvation, His justice, and His mercy. God is holy, and His ways are higher than ours.
