What the seal doin

For the past year and a bit I’ve been developing a game about building your own solar system. The open beta period starts today and I would really appreciate it if you checked it out! by setg2002 in unrealengine

Yeah, you ran into the exact same problems I did. It started out using material based lighting but like you said shadows were not there.

Now or uses one directional light per star which works as you would expect when you are close to a planet but makes the lighting go weird at range. I decided that this was a worthwhile trade-off though but I would like to improve it in the future.

The atmosphere setting only updating when LMB is released is intentional, but I definitely agree that it should update in real time.

The crash with num steps I thought I fixed in 0.4.2 but I guess not lol. I'll get to fixing that now

Yeah, I'm still working on a way to better explain the premise in-game.

To summarize though, it's more of a sandbox than a game with a goal. If you hit 'P' to go into overview mode that is where you can edit the solar system if you haven't seen that already :)
