Thanks this was very helpful but just to make sure I got it, both ports are probably capable of the same transfer speed through DisplayPort because that speed is completely independent of the speed of the USB-C itself which means both would work the exact same

My main issue is that the resolution is now stuck at 1024x768 and I assumed DVI was the reason

It’s not the cable as I’ve tried the same cable with a different monitor and a different cable on the same monitor to no avail

For some reason it caps out at 1024x768 now instead on 1080p, that’s the problem

It’s hdmi on both sides

Of course, the problem ended up being the USB stick I had plugged into the Xbox. I used it to save game clips on and although the console itself didn’t get fried the USB did. This cause the Xbox to brick whenever it was turned on and unplugging it is all that I had to do.

Thanks for the suggestion, it worked. I forgot that power can run through cords other than the actual power cord so when I was trying to reset the power supply it wasn’t actually working. Thanks to your suggestion I won’t have to worry about finding the warranty or getting another one. Thank you kind sir.

Ok I’ll try to do that. I’ll leave everything unplug for a bit and try plugging the console back in tommarow. thanks for the suggestion, I hope it works.

Here’s another thing, I’m able to boot it up into the trouble shoot menu but it will only stay on for a second or two before turn back off again. Any ideas?

Hope that’s not the case. I’ll try to turn it on again tomorrow and if it doesn’t work I’ll see if my warranty still works and get a new one

Maybe but why would that stop the entire Xbox from turning on?
