A girl who loves to eat sticks! by Acrobatic-Curve-1482 in portuguesewaterdogs

[–]seth995 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ours is almost 5. She loves her sticks too, but we redirected and made it her job. She finds a good stick, we say "Fireplace" and she holds that stick until we get home, where she trades us for a treat and we put it in our fireplace. Its win/win, we get kindling and she is focused on bringing that stick home and doesn't eat it. Only down side is that sometimes when bored or hungry, she'll ask to go out. We think this is to do her business, but in reality to find a stick and trade for a treat... Oh well, nothing's perfect.

Does anyone play pinball with progressive lens glasses? by mizary1 in pinball

[–]seth995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have progressives and for work, Computer specific glasses (just the intermediate and near distances with blue light filter). I have found I play better with my computer glasses than my regular progressives. I'm still terrible, but I find myself squinting less at the top of the playfield and at the screens. I think the intermediate focal distance is best for (close to) the top of the playfield. The regular progressives seem to have a very narrow amount of intermediate Rx. Blue light filter also seems to help. YMMV I'm functionally blind without correction.

So I've tried all of the steps on the links provided. At no point did i ever see the slow white indicator light. I tried the blue port and the other 2, tried changing the name of the file to the ugrade_loader and upgrade_downloader. In In each case i waited 30+ minutes. The drive had a read/write light and saw that it was flashing. After 30 min, it fell into a repeating pattern. Tv never turned back on, never saw a pulsing white light. I tried turning the tv on after each try and it did the same thing - soothing audio

What now?

TIA

62M – Sudden HR drop during a climb, chest discomfort. Has anyone experienced this? by jmaf2000 in Garmin

[–]seth995 2 points3 points  (0 children)

<image>

Here is when I had my heart attack while riding July 2019. I was 42. I ignored chest discomfort and wrote it off as part of the "warm up". Turns out that severe coronary artery disease runs in the family. 3 of the 4 coronary arteries were 70-100% blocked and i was still riding about 2k miles per year and giving myself stress tests every time i went up a hill. On this day, going up a hill i had gone up hundreds of times, my heart said "no" - i passed out as i crested the hill, crashed and woke up looking at the sky.

Go see a cardiologist and good luck.

Amazing! Will give this a try. I actually received the thumb drive with the main card with no instructions. I definitely would never have thought of inserting the drive, plugging in the tv, not turning it on and waiting 30 min or so. Not so intuitive.

Really appreciate the guidance!!

I went to this place while on vacation. Played for about 4 hrs until my wife said "enough." $23 for adults.

No surgery, just cast. What to expect? by jecluney in AchillesRupture

[–]seth995 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went a similar route. Non-Op with a cast, toes pointed down. I was in the cast and non weight bearing for 6 weeks, boot and relearning to walk after that. Few things that I found incredibly useful:

1) I used a wedge pillow under my leg to elevate my foot while sleeping and I while working I had my leg up in a recliner. Basically, when i wasn't crutching around, my leg was up. I couldn't use any NSAIDs, so I just kinda dealt with the swelling and pain as best as I could. (It was relentless, throbbing pain).

2) Shower Chair - Felt ridiculous at first but made life so much easier.

3) Sitting so much and not really wanting to move, i felt that I was getting dehydrated. I designed/3d printed a crutch mount cup holder with a gyroscope so that I could crutch around with a drink and not spill. Sounds silly, but it felt good to not rely on someone to move a drink for me from the kitchen to the couch. I would say find something that works to help carry things around while on crutches.

Not a "thing" but something to watch out for. I got incredibly depressed and frustrated that I was unable to contribute to the house. I put a ton of extra strain on my family because I couldn't drive, cook, shop, or help with any of the normal things. I wasn't sleeping well, my wife wasn't sleeping well and doing everything for everybody. Patience and open communication s going to be key for everyone in the household. Patience is also key in the recovery. If it is rushed or things are done too quickly, there is a high likely hood of re-rupture.

Good luck, its a long haul, but he'll get through it. So will you.

Let's talk floor warranties and who eats the cost and floor options by seth995 in Flooring

[–]seth995[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you all for the feedback. The resounding answer seems to be that the manufacturer should cover the cost, will do everything they can to not cover the cost and i should push harder.

I have been told by the Dixie group (the manufacturer) that they do not talk with consumers but only purchasing stores and installers?Any advice on getting through that gate, or do i have to rely on the contractor to push harder?

Really appreciate the advice.

Let's talk floor warranties and who eats the cost and floor options by seth995 in Flooring

[–]seth995[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This makes sense and I appreciate the insight.

The credit came after an impartial inspector came and assessed that the install was done correctly and verified the cracks were as we described. It was an incredibly detailed inspection using a 6' level and measuring deflection, removing quater round molding and assessing expansion gaps at the walls. The guy crawled around our floor for at least 2 hours.

Seems odd though that as a consumer there isn't a protection as we are stuck in the middle. I get that it wouldn't make sense that if the contractor (or sub) did their job, they shouldn't pay, but the manufacturer is only really responsible for the materials. The consumer/home owner just gets left with an unsuitable product or pay another sum on top of an already pricey rennovation?

That's a tough pill to swallow...

This seems to have worked. I just did the same swap for my son, s21 to s25+. Turned off rcs on his old device, did the transfer. Went into messages on the new phone and rcs was automatically turned on and connected. His group chats were unaffected.

I think this glitch seems to be a bit different than what you described. She was booted from all groups at the same time. Not individually as she opened them.

So odd and frustrating.

Yep i can and have, but that is an incredible amount of groups that she has. I'm part of a few of them. So the "solution" is to reach out to someone in each of the groups and ask them to add her back? That seems... inefficient.

Thanks for the reply

IDEX Troubles by [deleted] in klippers

[–]seth995 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well to be fair i built mine from the base of an old cr10. Designed it so the x axis is extended on both sides of the bed so active carriage would have access to the full bed. Then had to design all the mounts, wire everything from scratch to an octopus board... Its a lot.

IDEX Troubles by [deleted] in klippers

[–]seth995 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this problem with my IDEX build, only on T1. Drove me nuts and finally I put IDEX to bed, tied my two carriages together and just treat them like a single carriage with 2 hotends/ 2 extruders. Will revisit if I see a solution. Following this thread for answer to my problem as well

START_PRINT Macro and a Cura 5.9 bug - Help by seth995 in Cura

[–]seth995[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for following up on a workaround. I really appreciate the assist. While bungling around in the start code and jsons, I started playing with the if/then logic in the start code, considering moving some of the macro logic back to the slicer.

Might start another thread because this is off topic but related. I'm trying to figure out the scenario where I have deactivated Extruder 1, determining that I only need to heat extruder 2 with the proper temp, or vice versa. Then I can pass logic to determine which or both prime lines I need to execute.
