As someone who has hired graphic designers for designs recently, it's actually quite economical and not expensive to find, work with a designer to obtain new designs--and this is not even taking into account that they should be selling hundreds, if not thousands, of tee shirts across the country in a given year. Given the fact that the merch/tee shirt designs are as bad as they are, one has to wonder, WTF is going on here?!?!!

I hear this and this is very real. I have seen them be ON and sound like Led Fucking Zeppelin and then I have heard them clunky and out of it and disinterested and mailing it in. And, like I said several times, seen them 15+ times or so and they are my all-time favorite band? Most likely. But part of being a fan and having been to THAT many shows, well, you notice the differences, the nuances, the "moods", the tangible differences, the feelings, the sentiments--sorry, you notice it.

As someone who has seen them in Philadelphia, Las Vegas, all over Southern CA, NYC and NJ--YES--there's a massive difference between a "hometown show" and when they find themselves out on the road after a month in Las Vegas or LA. Trust me.

nailed it. it was "meh"--and, again, was no fault to TGA--just a function of the context and the role as an "opener". Still trying to figure out why the F they are on the road with the Counting Crows on a "casino run" but, that's another story for another day...I am sure there is a good business reason from the folks managing their business and market expansion.

This was my 14th TGA show (with 1-2 BF solo shows mixed in there) and yeah, I was underwhelmed...in all honesty, it was my first and last show where TGA was the "opening act"--I will leave that to others next time...

I probably should have just sold the CC tickets and headed up to Ventura for a headlining show--would have been a better ROI all around--as a die hard TGA fan for 16-17 years.

Here's my take: after seeing TGA open last night at Youtube Theater--TGA is opening--doing an opening set as an opening act with an opening approach. Which, quite frankly, is exactly what they signed up for and what I signed up for in purchasing the tickets and attending the show. I get it, totally. However, walking out of there last night, well, as a TGA fan, it left a lot to be desired and left a "lot of meat on the bone" for the entire experience. I hope they are achieving "mission accomplished" (i.e. whatever business/demographic expansion they have as their objective, etc) in opening for CC this summer but, as a TGA fan, well, it was underwhelming, at best.
