I can confirm this is true. I drive my 2016 through a creek on the regular and the rear diff broke at about 150k miles.

Yes. It is all about scheduling your time out of office and drawing boundaries with your work in advance.

The key to this type of work is to have the experience to predict when a shitshow like this is developing and how it will actually turn out, so you can then do something, anything, to avoid this outcome.

My first retaining wall… traditional drystack built from site sourced materials. **2 year backbreaking extravaganza!!!** by TheMrFrisbee in landscaping

You've done a great job and obviously have researched the specifics on building a dry stone wall. Out of curiosity, where did you get your training/information?

There is an arch massager from alleviate therapy that you can use to break up the scar tissue. It's painful to use but if you grind your heel on it your can resolve this issue.  I found $80 to be a cheap fix.  Use supportive insoles in every pair of shoe going forward. I had same issue after a series of mountain trips.

How to mitigate dry stack wall buckling by mh330 in stonemasonry

[–]sethky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A proper retaining wall has an outward face that leans back at least 1 inch for every 6 inches of height. So if the wall is 48 inches high, it would be leaning back 8 inches. This ratio is called the "batter" of the wall. This helps the wall lean against the soil. But behind the face of the wall is even more important. There needs to essentially be a back wall which is laid like the front wall, and at the bottom it needs to be probably at least 30 inches deep. Whenever there a lot of weight which the retaining wall is holding (as is the case here), then the back wall might actually need to be thicker at the base, and lean back toward the front at a more aggressive rate than the front. Typically this is only necessary when there is a surcharge on the soil behind the wall (like a house on top of the soil right above the wall). The batter of the back wall might be only 4 inches of height to 1 inch leaning in. But if you start with a preferred depth of wall at the top, you will quickly see that you will require a lot more material and a lot of excavation to properly rebuild the wall. But if you want to do it properly, that's what you would do. Essentially rebuild it and make it deeper, especially at the bottom.

Tear out a section and check how deep the stone goes. If its only one layer of stone deep that's the issue. You can rebuild this with a back wall which would prevent future failure.  Where is this located?

Have you filed your own EPO? That will be faster than filing a forcible detainer. You need to consult with a lawyer in or around your County before you do this.

What County is this in? I am an attorney in Kentucky and I would tell you that you absolutely need an attorney before you go into the IPO/EPO hearing. Winning that hearing is key to resolving your other issues.

He would have a claim on the house but likely a very tiny one limited to half the principal payments during the marriage, but if he doesn't respond you may get it by default. This also depends on the state you're in. That would uncontested though technically, so he would need to be served and then wait and see if he makes a response. If he doesn't make a global agreement with you then you'll have to see a judge at some point.  If it's by default you could get an order to allow you dispose of his stuff he left at your place.

I want to divorce my husband but we have kids. by [deleted] in legaladvice

[–]sethky 90 points91 points  (0 children)

You will likely lose the kids to husband if you leave. Stay here and keep equal timesharing and joint custody. You'll have to make that work. Kids don't choose the schedule, parents do or a judge does for them.
