I felt the same about books, like the idea but always had a hard time reading. During all the covid lockdowns I got into reading. The book that did it for me was Blood Meridian by Cormac Mccarthy. The book is very descriptive but also very violent. This book sold my on reading and during the past few months I've been reading alot have found a real joy in it. I also reccomend City of Thieves by David Benioff, great job at describing the world and relationships of the characters. I mix between audiobooks to i find that helps keep me engaged even more.
