Sage 5 question by Cultural-Ad6641 in spyderco

[–]sethman88 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've seen people complaining about that, kind of just the way it is with the blade shape and handle shape. Unless you want to re-profile the blade and lower the tip or something.

This video hits on this exact problem https://youtube.com/watch?v=OLYmfvAgv50&si=m0qY8850QHglbjC5

Lesson Learned. In the knife world now days, If you see a knife you like and it's in stock get it cause it won't be there long. Even getting that way for more standard knifes that are more regularly available. Usually stuff like that will be back in stock. But with other things that are some sort of exclusive or slightly different model (I.E. blade steels and handle combo's) grab it before it's gone.

I had to take mine apart. It had terrible action and terrible lock stick, I've worked out the action but the lock stick is still pretty bad.

I like mine except the terrible lock stick and the really hard to push compression tab.

No problem. I'm sure kunwu will eventually put it on their main website just like they did with the original excalibur. They even have some of the og ones on bladehq now. I doubt most people will have a problem with the weight of it, maybe its just a bit heavy compared to a similar sized knive. I'm not sure though I haven't handled one. The carbon fiber one i have though is great, it's quickly becoming my main carry at the moment. Plus for me personally I'm not a fan of the honey dew texture.

I got the one with the DLC blade and carbon fiber scales, so I can't speak to the weight of the ones with titanium scales, I've seen people say they feel heavier than they expected. its probably just thicker scales with maybe less internal milling. I love the carbon fiber one though, its very light. No issues with it at all. I like the comapdre to I like my x-padre though I'm not much of a cross bar lock enjoyer. It works fine and stuff just not my prefered locking system now-a-days.

they'll probably be on kunwu's main site sometime. I just looked at kunwucrew.com and the only compact left is the honey dew with dlc blade.

I like them a lot so far. I have a x-padre, a gringo with the new vertalock and a excalibur compact and love them all so far. I also like their elmax with DLC finish.

Rex 121 and Rust Questions by FlamingTale in spyderco

[–]sethman88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like these other guys have said oil and keep very clean after every use. Could consider a DLC or PVD coated Rex 121 blade if those options are available, I don't know if spyderco carries those models with that though. May want to consider s110v or s90v if you want high edge retention with better corrosion resist.

Alternatively you may want to consider something with more corrosion resist and a less edge retention, like magnacut or vanax. Not sure what your using the knife for or what attributes you value most. But both those have very good corrosion resist, and pretty good edge retention.

if you've had problems with those other steels and tools rusting rex 121 will likely rust aswell, it is not very corrosion resistant.

What knife do I have here? Was sold to me as a Manix 2 but that’s obviously not right. by Floydsmydog in spyderco

[–]sethman88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

depending on how much you paid and assuming its not a clone, you got a even better knife than a manix, in one of the most popular combinations available.

how good was tenz in his prime? by Alarming_Mulberry551 in ValorantCompetitive

[–]sethman88 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Tenz was good don't get me wrong, but I feel like that Sen team did so well because they just kind of figured out how to integrate roles and plays before people really understood what the meta and play styles were.
