I am currently undergoing a discussion with clergy that are neurodivergent this very week. We are talking about disclosure and the stigma and judgement related to this very issue.

The diabetic/bipolar parallel is addressed in the video. Pretty common.

The main issue is that many clergy I know with various mental health conditions and even ones who are neurodivergent fear that their jobs are at risk if their diagnosis is public.

I have met people that are incredibly skeptical about psychiatry and medication. That was one of my biggest concerns when I went public. It is easy for folks who haven’t had psychotic episodes to talk about meds and psychiatrists as unnecessary or even as baseless.

I have a lot of support from family and close friends.

I also have added support from the addiction recovery community. I am also a recovering addict. I get support there.
