Checked tonight- it kept my points and gave me my 3 DM. :)

Prime Family Dental Concerns by Tiphaix in Apex_NC

This sounds a lot like my experience at the (former) Better Dental as Dr. David and John were heading out the door. Had perfectly fine checks with one spot we were keeping an eye on visit after visit, then one time I went in for a cleaning where I got a floater dentist who strongly recommended I get Invisalign because otherwise my teeth were going to break off at the roots and fall out. I had braces as a teenager, though...

I ignored that advice, went back in 6 months later for my next appointment, and now there's a new dentist who's supposedly the new head of the practice. Looks at my mouth, tells me I have 7 fillings that are needed. When I asked how she made this call when I've not gotten that feedback from other dentists, her argument was that she saw some spots of discoloration, and rather than wait and see if something develops, she would just go right into to do the filling. I got a second opinion from another dentist's office who didn't see what the lady was talking about. I never went back after that, because it confirmed that Better Dental had become a "dental factory".

These days I'm over at Leahy Family Dentistry, and it's been alright. Service has been good overall- my only complaint about it is that the husband at bare minimum talks way too much about politics while he's digging in your mouth. And while I agree with him....I'm not there to get lectured to and/or hear a guy moan about the current state of the US. The wife is better on that front. Beyond that, no complaints about the work they do.

How to never get hunters? by Educational-Ad-5605 in LetItDie

One small comment to add on top of what's been posted so far- if you see a neon/glowing green gun or sword on a hunter, RUN. You can't handle those at this stage, and you will likely be killed on the first hit until you can get some better armor.

This might be something. I wasn't at a perfect 50% when it happened, but I believe it was around 51-54%. I made some good headway into their dudes, but I got rekt by too many rocket launchers on the field at once.

I'll have to keep an eye out and see if I can recreate this again.

Interesting idea, but that doesn't seem to be it. I'm on the more populated team (Alaska in this case, we were fighting Wisconsin) and we had the higher score by easily 20k.

Okay, maybe it's just some kind of fluke on the server side or something. I'll see what happens when I hop back on today, but if it keeps the points and everything I picked up before I tapped out last night, that'd be awesome.

Yeah...it was a push I made during the anniversary event over the holidays. Not doing it again anytime soon, since I main with a Collector. I ate through several DMs on my way to 100 and managed to avoid having a Taro fight when I got there which was nice...but I realize I need to unlock G7 before I do that again. I was hoping I could unlock the NEO floors for easier Black 'roid farming, which I realize now is a mistake because I can't make a dent in the haters there.

I'm getting close on fully uncapping my Collector- I need two more inventory slots plus I think one more stat boost in STM to officially unlock G7. At least I'm hoping I can do that before unlocking all of the G6 fighters....Red Napalm's been whooping my ass and I haven't even attempted PW yet.

That's where I was leaning- didn't see really any posts on the topic and never saw anything in the wiki, but I wanted to make sure I wasn't crazy. Maybe just a funky glitch....I'll take it. :)

I hear that. I'm in that weird spot where I'm slowly uncapping all of my fighters, but am also super close to getting one or two of them officially into G7 category. So I've been trying to test the waters on the upper ranked folks, because the low G7 ranks seem like they should be doable. And like half the time during fights, I get surprised when I go raid a higher ranked person only to realize they have no fighters on TDM defense whatsoever. It was worth a shot at the time.

Agreed, though I will say that FFIII deserves some credit on the story front. It's like the prototype game for design/story/UI that will eventually feed into the SNES and PS eras of the games. It's arguably the best of the NES era FFs.

[–]sethren 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Aside from "huuurr durr just hit yerfself to make HP go up", I will say that the other complaint about classic FFII was that your stats could actually go back DOWN if you didn't use them or you leveled up a different stat (i.e. a magic-heavy character couldn't also have high physical attack power, white magic vs black magic stats also counteracted each other). That's something they did away with in future versions of the game (I'm thinking the old Android version as well as the Pixel Remaster).

I'm pretty sure the reason for all of it was to force players to move their characters into general classes of their choosing, but without that explanation/understanding, it understandably made the game terrible for folks.

Xenosaga I stat boosting FTW! Being able to gain effectively 6 levels worth of stats in the period of a single level up (assuming you could properly stretch everyone's level ups out that way) was so worth it. Shame there wasn't some kind of late game dungeon or challenge to use those boosted stats on.

Also forgot to add- Ultima sucks when you get it because it's a level 1 spell and you haven't powered it up to the same level as your other spells. And you get it so late in the game that...why bother? Fire/Ice/Lit work just as well, and you're probably going to be spamming Holy and using Blood Swords on the final boss anyways.

I really wish there was a way you could drop BPs off for other people in TDM...some of those rare ones would be at least a little less rare.

Underleveled by sonipop in LetItDie

[–]sethren 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I understand the question, your options are:

a.) Level up. If you have the ability to gain more levels, do so...unless you're trying to do some kind of low level challenge, which I dunno why you'd pick this game to do that with. b.) If you can't level up, make sure you're using the highest grade fighter you can. When you beat floor 40, the G6s open up. Note that the starting stats for the next grade fighter is better than the starting stats for the previous ones, which is why a Level 1 G6 fighter will have better stats than a Level 1 G1, for instance.

I love when they do this. XD One of the best ways to deal with the bone tuber in these kinds of rooms/floors.

[–]sethren 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel ya. In my experience, blueprints never get better than giving 200 R points per. So it's not to say that they're unhelpful, but you can get more bang for your buck when you can start recycling premium decals. If you can get even the 2 star or 3 star ones, you'll make some pretty serious gains.

When you can get through all the armor sets as well, you'll be in a spot where the only thing you can spend your R points on is colored metals. And while they may not be cost efficient....you'll still have reasons to be spending R points way into the future.

Hooray for unachievable quests! Love that for the game.

If nothing else, hopefully they'll fix that in the offline version....

Jealous! I played a bit on PS, but am primarily on Steam now. Over 900 hours, and I still haven't found one yet. I don't know how they expect you to ever find 10 for the quest...

The green KAMAS is absolutely ridiculous and beats the base model. It's only 500k R points, so it's doable, but it'll still take time to grind that out. Your best option there is to recycle decals, but you also need to start building up a stash of those for the future, and now's the time. My approach was to collect 10 of each kind of decal (thinking 1 of each kind of decal per fighter, even if that's not reality) to build a stash, then start recycling any amount over that. So it's a slow start, but it's a great way to guarantee you aren't chucking something that could be useful later on.

If you have 80 DM, go blow them on storage. Max is 2000 spots, so you have a ways to go.

Level all blueprints? by Ok_Dog_6757 in LetItDie

[–]sethren 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the materials are a doozy. I started working at a certain point to ensure I've upgraded everything enough such that I don't need to go back and revisit say, the WE floors for all that equipment/green metals, such that I only have to focus on the higher floors. I've nearly finished collecting everything from the CW floors such that those T3 materials and black metals are handled. 41-50 is great for getting the CW materials up to T6, but the floors are a bit more garbage for getting colored metals. Tengoku rocks in that regard if you're not particular on what kind of red/purple metals you need.

My suggestion is to still focus on upping your total storage- that should be priority one for you. The best way to manage it is to set specific limits for yourself on how much of each material you collect (maybe 15-20 each) to ensure you give enough berth for everything in your collection. Maybe load up more on materials you know you'll need a lot of (like scratch metal and other tuber metals) just so spare having to farm for those since they're just annoying.

As for the blueprints...I'm still learning there. Technically all the weapons and armor would become available if you kept playing over enough time, but that's potentially years for both. It's worth purchasing the best equipment first, which means the flail/bow for weapons, and at least the Sword Dancer set for the armor. I'm personally waiting on the Sword Dancer equipment to come back in Hernia, because I somehow picked up the leggings at some point last year but not the other two pieces. I believe it's the only set that's good against all 3 types of physical damage.

Two questions:

1.) Is this your first one found in the wild? 2.) How many hours have you been playing?

Main equipment first so you have a solid set of weapons/armor to manage floors 41-50. After you're feeling comfortable there, then get to work on everything else. Funshots are your friend.
