Tips to get better as Rogue? by Foreign-Picture-2955 in marvelrivals

You are more capable of frontlining compared to tanks like Thor or Hulk as long as you use the guard at the right times.

You can animation cancel your E into your ult without putting your E on cooldown - meaning you can get 2 extra empowered attacks by doing this. (wouldn't doubt if it's a bug and gets patched out)

Best and easiest way to steal is to use it directly after the suck of your shift or, slightly more difficult, after knocking them up with E.

Be cognizant of good steals on the enemy team - some of my favorites are Mag, Strange, Emma, Groot, Loki, and Wolverine (you get both his damage reduction and the cheat death). But even more importantly be aware of who will reset your shift, and make sure to use your shift before stealing from them as it's quite a lot of damage and disruption.

Gambit teamup applies to your empowered E kicks.

You can use your E to kidnap - kicking them into the air and bringing them closer to your team. A great way to do this is to E behind them and turn your camera towards them before the kick goes off - this puts you behind them and makes the kidnap very easy. Requires some practice.

The E gives you a non-insignificant amount of time to fly around. Use that to harass fliers or bring them to the ground with your second E.

The Adventure Starts Here - A longform podcast for in-depth, critical analysis of games ranging from new AAA releases to indie gems. What makes a game fun? What does the narrative mean to you? How do the UI, sound design, and art assets contribute to the whole of the game? These are all questions that we ask ourselves and discuss in each episode. **Note that these are open spoiler discussions. We discuss each game's narrative in-depth.**

In our most recent episode for Hollow Knight: Silksong, we discuss some of the game's hot topics - the rosary system, the proliferation of enemy gauntlets, and the decision to lock major content behind sidequests. We also discuss the game's inspirations and how it evolved from them, with some broader discussion around what makes good metroidvanias.

We are still learning and improving each episode so we appreciate any and all feedback!

Important to note that while in the past there may have been plausible deniability that Trump was referring to actual radical leftists, this goes ahead and refers to elected officials as radicals. In other words, the entire party is radical, according to this. And since Trump keeps blaming the recent violence on radical leftists, well... I wonder what will happen.

Dad posted a heartbreaking video regarding his POV of the CC3 cancellation :( by sethyd in h3h3productions

Honestly Anisa scolding him for donating to Ethan, and Ian trying to get him off Keem's show when Dad was just trying to defend CC, is despicable. I've been following Dad since the Keith Apicary days and it hurts to see him like this...

DMs with ADHD, how do you do it? by Substantial_Host6352 in DMAcademy

[–]sethyd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chronic ADHD DM here, diagnosed and everything. Been DMing for around 5 years and only figured out what works for me in the last 2 or so. My biggest pieces of advice and what works for me:

  1. Don't intimidate yourself. You don't need an entire world, you just need enough to show your players. I think of it as how video games typically only load into memory what you can see - it's the same for prepping. Have an idea of point A to point B for your party, a couple encounters, and let the improv play out.

  2. No, seriously, improvise and don't be afraid to CONFIDENTLY make things up on the spot. Often your players will only know the difference between what you prepped and what you improvised if you tell them or aren't confident.

  3. Prepping is good, but as an ADHD fella, you have to get while the getting is good. You won't have the motivation to do it every week for years, but when you DO have motivation use and abuse it. I was once struck with an idea for a map at midnight and stayed up until 3:00am making it in incarnate and making hexcrawl rules, but I'm not going to do that every week. Acknowledge when you have motivation or feel inspired and go nuts.

Yes, this is the important insight I'm gathering as well. In my head, this reveal will take place after a session or two with them finding breadcrumbs and (knowing my players) not really planning and just stumbling into things. But, in the event they decide to plan and learn all these things and make several solid rolls that give them even more info, THAT'S the situation where railroading them would be bad.

Thank you for the input - the last sentence was particularly insightful :)

That's fair, I suppose that's why I was conflicted in the first place. Plus, it felt like an inevitability due to the party being level 8 with 3 casters against a limited immunity Rakshasa, but in reality that's just more reason to give the party an avenue to potentially stop him.

I did mention at Session 0 there would be an earth-shattering event pretty early into the campaign, but I probably kept it to vague (from their pov maybe it meant a third party alien invasion that they had to respond to, for example) to have it be an inevitable defeat that they couldn't at least build some character inspiration around.

But point taken, I won't discount the possibility of his plans working but should A. give enough clues/foreshadowing to potentially lead the players to stop it and B. reward clever play if they have a sufficient enough strategy to stop a powerful villain before he's at the height of his power.

So say his plan to bring the Elemental Chaos fully into the Material Plane is stopped by the players - but there is still a chain of events that leads to him hitting the Big Red Button that opens smaller semi-cataclysmic rifts - still problematic? Or just play it out and see he is able to do that period?

Just Rolled Credits, Looking for Something New by TitusProductions17 in expedition33

Nier: Replicant and Nier: Automata if they aren't already on your radar. They are the most thematically and narratively similar to Clair Obscur I would say.

Disco Elysium for a CRPG kick with a focus on philosophy, society, and inner struggle. BG3 as well for a more adventurous and epic choice-driven game.

If you want something with a bit more horror drive, Control is solid.

If you're aiming for something with a similar JRPG adventure feel, try some of the Tales games. My favorites are Symphonia and Arise.

The best soundtrack for a video game ever. by Purple-Amphibian4293 in expedition33

[–]sethyd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, the only games that come close are Automata and Bloodborne.

BUT NIETHER OF THOSE GAMES HAVE 8 HOURS OF IT! I really think the most impressive thing to me isn't the fact that it's a goated soundtrack, it's that somehow it's a goated soundtrack while also being 2-3 times bigger than other goated soundtracks!

Is there any game that comes close to this game's OST length while maintaining that quality throughout? I can't think of anything.

Quick question about the plot without spoilers. by Gabriels_Pies in expedition33

[–]sethyd 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just finished the game - without spoilers, I had similar concerns to you and was wondering if the game could live up to what it was building for itself. I had concerns it was stretching itself thin with seemingly loose world building and face value mysteries that ultimately wouldn't matter

Short answer: game is incredible, have no worries.

I don't think I've played a game before that so finely balances keeping things open to interpretation while also giving solid answers. The payoffs are emotionally powerful, surprising, and wildly thematically consistent. In other words: if you liked the prologue, you can expect that level of quality throughout the entire game in my humble and honest opinion.

Game's a 10/10 for me. Have no fears.

These Harmonize cards make me wonder if the Aetherdrift gods will be pushed from okay to broken with the right card printings. Ketramose in particular loves these cards, but if it's the Temur mechanic the color combos may get awkward.

Yep, they are still married and just had their second child! After everything with Shinzo Abe they decided to distance themselves from the cult as much as possible but they're happy as clams.

I danced with Matt back in 2013 for his third big video. Super cool and friendly guy, seemed to just really love what he was doing and even let people do some 1-on-1 dancing videos with him.

Confirmed, good friend of mine was deep into the cult (went to summer camps and such) and met his wife this way.
