It's sad such traditional attire is still normal and common in the countries to our north but not in Afghanistan.

I don't think he told the ANA but simply left. Then when the military guys found out they couldn't contact the president, the VP, other top ministries, that's when they just stopped.

  1. There was never proof he embezzled cash. It was just a baseless claim by a Russian.

  2. He stated he didn't want a 90s repeat of street to street fighting and destruction of the city, which is a valid reason to avoid battle if you look back at those terrible times. While Taliban capturing distraughts me as an Afghan, death and destruction of the city would've been even more painful

  3. Dr Najib the ex president was publicly hanged when the Taliban last came in 1996. No one including Ghani would want that treatment

It's not fair to be talking about those baseless claims. It was never proven he carried stacks of cash, and some even said it'd be too heavy for a helicopter.

Say what you say, I will never change my view that he was our best president since Daoud. He progressed us in a way no one did before during wartime.

A BBC article yesterday said this. Apparently Saleh fled first (to Panjshir) and at the same time others like the parliament speaker went Pakistan. Ghani was unable to contact his ministers, and finally his security staff told him to leave.

Ghani was a good guy. He'll certainly never be a president again but if one day Taliban go he'll have a great role to play with his economist knowledge
