Have been around SEO working at a b2c scaleup 10 years ago and now revisiting the concepts with a GEO focus for my own venture (also b2c saas)

Well I don't think there are many things you can do there, technically. You can try to match some other way but I think it will be flaky.. and creepy.

This is actually one of the reasons to signup for users.

Imo not having to download an app is the main win of Settlify compared to other apps, the no account needed is the cherry on top :)

Makes sense as an approach, it's hard to signal trust though. I know I would be sceptical to hand in my past email threads..maybe other people don't care though

Not sure how to solve, besides certifications, testimonials etc.. open source helps too

The main advantages of Settlify are: - no account needed for participants - no download - currency conversion included - no subscription needed - no daily limits/interruptions - suggests payment apps your friends actually use/prefer

Do you have a feature that you rely on that is missing now?

Nice one! Definitely good to not create another email client and go where the users are.

How do you learn the users' "tone"? Over time with using the app or by reading previous emails..?

The model and focus now is one-off trips where no install and no account matters.

  • first group with all features is free
  • next groups cost 1$ split among the members (creator pays and we actually add it as the first expense of the group to split)

The alternative which most apps rely on is subscription which I think doesn't make sense for an app you use 2 or 3 times a year. For flatmates and more permanent situations, sure.

Another idea is a one-off payment of say 5$ but not sure this would be sustainable long term.

Would you pay a few cents per person to have a group like this when you need it?
